Welcome to the Woodmore High School Drama Club's website! Here you will find all the news and information on the happenings of the drama club as well as photos and information from both our current and past productions. Our main goal as an organization is to help and encourage our students to share their talent with the Woodmore community. The added benefit of being part of the production team is seeing these same students learn to be in front of a crowd singing, dancing and acting - all with poise and confidence. We believe that these are life-long lessons that will stay with them forever.

Each fall we elect student officers for our program and produce a drama production (2015 was “It’s a Wonderful Life Radio Hour”) which acts as a primary fundraiser to offset our spring show. Our program typically meets three or four times a year to offer workshops on acting, auditions and improv. Any and all students are welcome to join us at the meetings with no pressure to audition for our shows.

2016 Musical: Hello Dolly!

Currently we are in rehearsals for our annual spring musical "Hello Dolly." The production team is busy working with our students three nights a week. We are pleased to announce that this year's musical will also include 13 elementary students. Please check out information regarding show times and ticket prices.

Synopsis: In 1890s New York City, the bold and enchanting widow Dolly Levi (Brittany Brugger) is a socialite-turned-matchmaker. Her latest clients seeking assistance are the cantankerous "half-a-millionaire" Horace Vandergelder (Kevin Baumgartner) and a young artist named Ambrose (Jay Conner), who is in love with Horace's niece, Ermengarde (Natalie Liskai). Dolly's scheming soon involves Horace's employees (Chris Klett and Joe Kiger) as well as a New York hatmaker (Emily Barringer) and her assistant (Maria Nitkiewicz), as she tries to cover up her own secret romantic designs. Hilarity ensues as Dolly and her gang end up at the Harmonia Gardens restaurant under the management of one very dedicated gentleman (Ryan Book) and where Horace meets his “date” (Abby Wright). Eventually the crowd gets a bit out of control and ends up in a judge’s (Jared Draeger) courtroom where it all gets sorted out.

Rounding out the cast are featured dancers Jessie Sotak, Mackenzie Nighswander, Amber Zarella, Alysia Stevens, Samantha Sedlmeier, Christy Cruz, Max Geldien, Owen Conner, Jacob Siebelnaler, Karter Converse and Dyllan Wargo. Chorus members include Claudia Chavez, Davin Toflinski, Madi Kleinhans, Conner Whitney, Spencer Pendleton, Mason Gregory, Kelsey Beaver, Ethan Davis, Hannah Overmyer, Kate

Coutcher, Kiersten Sargent, Olivia Sevits, Kaitlyn Phillips, Megan Wax, Scarlet Sevits, Maddie Repka, Alexia Powell, Elizabeth Wilt, Clarissa Chavez, Sydney Drossel and Kaitlyn Allgier.

Showtimes: The show will open Thursday, March 17, at 7:30 PM and additional shows will be held on March 18, at 7:30 PM, two shows on March 19, the first one at 2 PM and the second at 7:30 PM, and the closing show will be held on Sunday, March 20, at 2 PM. The show will be held in the K-8 cafetorium. Because of the smaller size of the venue, we will be offering additional options to see the show. All parents and grandparents are invited to attend the “soft opening”/dress rehearsal on Wednesday, March 16, 6:30 PM at no charge. Community members are also welcome but they will be asked for a free will donation.

Tickets and Reserved Seating: Tickets are available by calling Melody at 419-410-1408. In addition, there will also be a few days during rehearsals that tickets will be sold (dates to be announced). This year we are offering a reserved section for those interested in getting a seat closer to the front. A seat in the reserved section is $15 per person. Please note, the section will be reserved, the seat will not. Other ticket prices

are $8 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults.
