March 4-5 - Div. III District Tournament (Rossford H.S.) - The Wildcats finished 25th as a team with 24.5 points with one wrestler advancing to the state tournament next weekend as an alternate. Junior Jack Caldwell won his fifth-place match over Christian Paul from Oak Harbor at 157 pounds, by a 7-0 decision, and he will be the alternate at the state meet next weekend (the top four in each weight class advance to the state meet with the fifth-place finisher the alternate) in Columbus. Earlier in the tournament, Caldwell won his first two matches to advance to the semifinal with a pin and a decision. He then lost a 4-2 decision to Kasen Wellman from Ayersville before a 3-1 loss to Eli Reinhart from Antwerp put him in the fifth-place match. Senior Eli Wolph had two wins in the district meet by pin at 190 pounds, but lost twice, once by decision and the other time by pin to fall out of the tournament. Senior Garrett Gedldine lost his opening match at 144 pounds by pin, but rebounded to win his next match by decision. He dropped out of the tournament after losing by major decision in his third match. The two freshman who advanced to the district tournament, Michael Seeger at 150 pounds and Landon Rich at 167 pounds, both lost their opening match by pin. Seeger won his second match by technical fall and Rich by pin, before Seeger lost by decision and Rich by technical fall as both dropped out the tournament.
Feb. 25 - Div. III Sectional Tournament (Oak Harbor H.S.) - Woodmore finished seventh with 103 points and has five wrestlers moving on to the Div. III district meet next week at Rossford High School. The top four in each weight class advance to the district meet while fifth-place finishers are alternates. Two wrestlers, senior Eli Wolph (190 pounds) and junior Jack Caldwell (157 pounds), move on as sectional champions. Both won three matches to capture the sectional title - Wolph won by pin and major decision to reach the final against Jon Rosas from Lakota who he defeated, 13-9; Caldwell won by pin and decision to face Case Paul from Lakota who he beat, 3-1 in overtime. Freshman Michael Seeger finished third at 150 winning two of his three matches. Senior Garrett Geldine (144) and freshman Landon Rich (165) both finished fourth. Geldine was 1-2 in his weight class and Rich had a 2-2 record. Senior Jacob Roginski (175 pounds) will be an alternate after finishing fifth with a 2-2 record. Sophomore Matt Caldwell (106 pounds) and freshman Gavin Herrig (132) both advanced to the fifth-place match but lost. The district meet begins Friday afternoon at Rossford High School and continues Saturday.
Feb. 18 - Northern Buckeye Conference Championships (Eastwood H.S.) - The Wildcats had two champions and five other placers and were fourth as a team with 96.5 points. Genoa easily took the team title with 211.5 points. Senior Eli Wolph won both his matches at 190 on his way to the title by pin, winning the championship match over Jose Garcia from Fostoria in 2:35. Junior Jack Caldwell won the 165 weight class with a decision and a technical fall over Baily Everhardt from Genoa in the final. Senior Garrett Geldine was the runner-up at 144 pounds winning his first two matches by pin before losing by pin to Zavier Materni from Genoa in the final. Placing third for the Wildcats was sophomore Matt Caldwell at 106 pounds, freshman Michael Seeger at 150 pounds, and senior Jacob Roginski at 175 pounds. Freshman Landon Rich was fourth at 157 pounds.
Feb. 2 - at Elmwood 45, Woodmore 35 - Woodmore won six matches in the Northern Buckeye Conference dual match. Sophomore Matt Caldwell won at 106 by forfeit, freshman Aiden Cordy won a 126 by pin, senior Garrett Geldine at 144 won by technical fall, freshman Michael Seeger won at 150 by pin, senior Eli Wolph at 190 won by pin, and freshman Shane Wilson won by forfeit at 215.
Jan. 27-28 - Thunderbird Invitational (Lima CC H.S.) - Woodmore finished 11th of 42 teams in the prestigious invite with 109.5 points. Woodmore had three placers. Senior Eli Wolph earned his 100th career win and went 4-1 in the tournament losing to Lee Burkett from Troy Christian by a 3-2 score in the championship match at 190 pounds. Both senior Jacob Roginski and junior Jack Caldwell won fifth-place matches. Roginski compiled a 6-2 record at 175 pounds and beat Connor Norton from Eastwood, 5-0, for fifth-place. Caldwell was 3-3 in the tournament and beat Hunter Randall from Miami East, 12-1, in the fifth-place match.
Jan. 20-21 - Van Buren Invite - The Wildcats finished 10th in the 32-team field with 91.5 points. Woodmore had three placers. Senior Eli Wolph was 5-1 in the tournament to place third at 190 pounds. Freshman Aiden Cordy went 4-2 in the tournament too place fourth at 126 pounds. And, senior Jacob Roginski had a 2-3 mark and placed sixth at 175 pounds.
Jan. 18 - at Woodmore 47, Lake 15 - Woodmore won 10 matches in the Northern Buckeye Conference dual as freshman Aiden Cordy won by pin in 1:27 at 126 pounds, senior Garrett Geldine won by pin in 48 seconds at 144 pounds, and senior Eli Wolph won by pin at 215 in 1:01. Freshman Gavin Herrig won by decision at 132, freshman Michael Seeger won by major decision at 150, junior Brant Deal won by decision at 157, senior Jacob Roginski was by technical fall at 190, and freshman Shane Wilson won by major decision at 285. Junior Jack Caldwell won by disqualification at 175 and freshman Landon Rich won by forfeit at 165.
Jan. 14 - John Hughes JV Invite (Lake H.S.) - Woodmore had four wrestlers in the tournament. Freshman Landon Rich won the 157-pound weight class winning all four of his matches. Freshman Bailey Jendrzejak was third at 165 pounds with a 1-2 record, and freshman Shane Wilson was third at 215 pounds with a 2-2 record. Junior Trevor Runkle went 1-3 at 285 pounds to place sixth.
Jan. 11 - at Genoa 48, Woodmore 23 - Woodmore won five matches in the Northern Buckeye Conference dual meet - freshman Michael Seeger won at 150 pounds by pin, junior Jack Caldwell won at 165 by technical fall, freshman Landon Rich won at 175 by decision, senior Jacob Roginski won at 190 by decision, and senior Garrett Geldine won at 144 by pin.
Jan. 6-7 - "A" Classic at Woodmore - The Wildcats won their own tournament with 258.5 points. Swanton was second with 200 points. There were 22 teams in the tournament. Woodmore had three champions. Junior Jack Caldwell won the 165-pound weight class with a pin in 1:23 of Collin Wagner from Van Buren in the title bout. Caldwell won all eight of his matches in the tournament. Senior Jacob Roginski won the 175-pound weight class with an 11-5 decision over Darrel Cross from Toledo St. John's in the first-place match. He had a 7-0 record in the tournament. And, senior Eli Wolph won the 190-pound weight class with a pin in 1:02 of Gabriel George from Van Buren in the championship match. Wolph was 8-0 in the tournament. Junior Brant Deal placed second at 157 pounds losing a 6-3 decision to Alex Camacho from Toledo St. John's in the final. Deal had a 5-2 record in the tournament. Three wrestlers placed third. Freshman Aiden Cordy earned third-place in the 126-pound weight class with a 4-1 win over Vinny Fanelli from Swanton. Cordy was 6-3 in the two-day event. Senior Garrett Geldine placed third at 144 pounds earning a 9-1 win over Landen Heath from Van Buren in the third-place match. Geldine had a 7-1 record in the tournament. Freshman Michael Seeger was third at 150 pounds with a 49-second pin of Hunter Beck from Montpelier in the match for third place. Seeger had an 8-1 record in the tournament. Freshman Gavin Herrig was fourth at 132 pounds losing to Landyn Lowery from Van Buren by pin in 2:13. Herrig won seven of his nine matches over the two-day tournament.
Jan. 4 - at Woodmore 56, Fostoria 12 - Woodmore had four winners by pin - freshman Aiden Cordy at 120 pounds in 2:28, junior Brant Deal at 150 pounds in 42 seconds, junior Jack Caldwell at 165 pounds in 1:21, and senior Eli Wolph at 215 pounds in 14 seconds. Freshman Landon Rich won by technical fall (17-0) at 157 pounds. Senior Jacob Roginski was by decision, 4-3, at 190 pounds. And, sophomore Matt Caldwell (106 pounds), freshman Gavin Herrig (132), senior Garrett Geldine (144), and freshman Bailey Jendrzejak (175) all won by forfeit.
Dec. 20 - Woodmore 48, at Rossord 30 - The Wildcats won nine matches to earn the Northern Buckeye Conference victory. Sophomore Matt Caldwell (106) and freshman Aiden Cordy (126) won by forfeit. Junior Brant Deal (157) and senior Jacob Roginski (190) won by decision. Freshman Gavin Herrig (132), senior Garrett Geldine (144), freshman Landon Rich (165), junior Jack Caldwell (175), and senior Eli Wolph (215) all won by pin.
Dec. 17 - Coldwater Invite - Woodmore was sixth among 23 teams with 129 points. Woodmore had two wrestlers place second. Junior Jack Caldwell was the runner-up at 165 pounds posting a 4-1 record. Caldwell lost to Justin Kreb from St. Xavier (Ky.) in the title match by pin. Senior Eli Wolph was second at 190 pounds. Wolph had a 4-1 record losing to Shane Ontrop from Coldwater in the championship match by pin. Senior Jocob Roginski was third at 175 pounds. He had a 4-1 record beating Dominic Baker from Oakwood in the third-place match by decision. Freshmen Landon Rich (157) and Aiden Cordy (126) both had 3-2 records and finished fourth in their weight class. Junior Brant Deal wrestled at 157 and had a 4-1 record finishing fifth. Junior Matt Caldwell had a 2-3 record and placed sixth at 106 pounds.
Dec. 14 - Woodmore 34, at Eastwood 27. The Wildcats won six matches to earn the Northern Buckeye Conference win. Earning wins for Woodmore was freshman Aiden Cordy at 126 pounds with a major decision (11-0), freshmen Gavin Herrig at 132 and Landon Rich at 165, junior Jack Caldwell at 175, a senior Jacob Roginski at 190 with wins by forfeit, and senior Eli Wolph at 215 with a win by pin (44 seconds).
Dec. 7 - at Woodmore 45, Otsego 24. Woodmore won eight matches including two by pin. Junior Jack Caldwell won his match at 165 pounds in 49 seconds and senior Eli Wolph won at 215 pounds in 1:57. Earning a win by decision was freshman Gavin Herrig at 132 pounds, a 6-3 victory. Sophomore Matt Caldwell (106 pounds), freshman Michael Seeger (150), freshman Bailey Jendrzejak (175), senior Jacob Roginski (190), and junior Tyler Runkle (285) all won by forfeit.
Dec. 3 - Derr Invitational (Northwood H.S.) - Woodmore had two champions and two runner-ups to lead the Wildcats to a fourth-place team finish with 174 points. Perrysburg (230 pts.), Whitmer (220), and Evergreen (186) finished in front of the Wildcats in the 22-team field. Freshman Michael Seeger won the 150-pound weight class by winning all seven of his matches, including the title match over Caleb Kozak from Whitmer by decision, 7-6. Senior Eli Wolph won the 215-pound weight class posting a 7-1 record and beating Cam'Ron Kirtz from Swanton in the final by pin in 52 seconds. Sophomore Jack Caldwell and senior Jacob Roginski both finished second in their weight division. Caldwell had a 6-1 record in the 165-pound weight class with his only loss coming in the championship match to Nick Hartzell from Perryburg by a 15-2 score. Roginski was 4-2 in the tournament and he lost to Grant Richardson in the final by decision, 3-1. Junior Brant Deal finished fourth in the 157-pound weight class posting a 4-3 record. He lost to Kian Moore from Bowsher in the third-place match. Sophomore Matt Caldwell was also fourth posting a 4-2 record in the 106-pound weight class. Caldwell lost to Jacob Courington from Whitmer in the third-place match by a 10-7 score. Freshman Aiden Cordy (132), freshman Gavin Herrig (138), and junior Tyler Runkle (285) also wrestled in the invitational. Cordy posted a 2-2 record and placed ninth, Herrig went 4-3 in the invitational to place sixth, and Runkle went 2-5 to place 11th.
Feb. 24 - Div. IV District (Fostoria H.S.) - New Riegel 47, Woodmore 42. The Wildcats, after they were outscored, 17-6, in the third quarter, saw frantic fourth-quarter rally come up just short with the loss ending their season. The two teams played an even first half that ended appropriately, tied at 19. New Riegel scored the first four points of the third quarter to take a 23-19 lead. After a Woodmore free throw, New Riegel would outscore Woodmore, 13-5, over the remainder of the frame to build a 36-25 edge heading to the fourth quarter. New Riegel canned a three-point field just 15 seconds into the fourth quarter to lead, 39-25, their biggest lead of the game. At that point, Woodmore began to chip away at the deficit scoring four straight to make it 39-29 with 6:52 left. After a New Riegel field goal, Woodmore would score six unanswered to reduce the deficit to 41-35 with 3:56 remaining. With 2:51 left, the Wildcats still trailed 45-38. Woodmore would score the next four points to pull within 45-42 with 1:04 left. Both teams had an empty possession before New Riegel would get two free throws with 21.4 seconds left for the final points of the game. Junior Macey Bauder led Woodmore with 15 points, seven in the fourth quarter, while senior Camryn Ivy scored eight points and senior Sidney Wank added seven points. Ivy grabbed eight rebounds while junior Jordan Beam scored five points and grabbed six rebounds. New Riegel had a 19-16 edge in field goals while Woodmore had a 6-5 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore was 4-of-10 from the line, New Riegel was 4-of-8.
Feb. 19 - Div. IV Sectional (Genoa H.S.) - Woodmore 53, Old Fort 39. The Wildcats outscored Old Fort, 27-15, in the second half to take the next step in the state tournament. Woodmore led 15-10 after one quarter and scored the first basket of the second quarter to take a 17-10 lead. Old Fort fought back by scoring eight of the next nine points to tie the game at 18-all. From that point on for the rest of the quarter, neither team led by more than two points and Woodmore held a 26-24 lead at the break. A late 8-4 run by the Wildcats in the third quarter gave them a 36-32 lead after three quarters. Woodmore would then score nine of the first 11 points of the fourth quarter to take a 45-34 edge with 3:30 left. After an Old Fort field goal, Woodmore would score the next six points to take a 51-37 lead with 1:14 remaining. Woodmore would score 15 of the first 20 points in the fourth quarter and outscore Old Fort, 17-7, in the quarter. Junior Macey Bauder led Woodmore with 17 points, 10 in the second half, while senior Sophie Blausey and junior Alayna Hahn both contributed nine points. Woodmore had a 14-13 edge in field goals, while Old Fort had four of the seven three-pointers in the game. Woodmore was 22-of-33 from the line, Old Fort was 9-of-16.
Feb. 16 - Div. IV Sectional (Genoa H.S.) - Woodmore 63, Vanlue 12. Woodmore led 16-3 after one quarter and 39-8 at halftime to advance in the state tournament. Woodmore is the #4 seed in the district and Value was the #14 seed. Junior Macey Bauder led the Wildcats with 14 points and senior Camryn Ivy added 10 points as 10 different players scored in the game. Woodmore had a 29-4 edge in field goals. Vanlue made three of the four three-pointers in the game. Woodmore was 6-of-10 from the stripe, Vanlue was 1-of-2.
Feb. 15 - Woodmore had four players named to the Northern Buckeye Conference all-league team as recently voted upon by the NBC coaches. Junior guard Macey Bauder was a first-team selection after averaging 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. Senior forward Sophie Blausey was a second-team pick after averaging 13.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and shooting 47.7% from the field. Senior center Camryn Ivy was also a second-team selection after averaging 12.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and shooting 48.2% from the field. Junior guard Jordan Beam was an honorable mention all-league selection. She averaged 4.9 points and 5.0 rebounds. Brooklyn Thrash from Elmwood was tabbed as the Player of the Year in the conference.
Feb. 10 - Varsity - Fostoria 56, at Woodmore 53. In a close game most of the way, Woodmore led 15-10 after one quarter then Fostoria gradually chipped away at the Wildcats. Woodmore led 28-21 at halftime then Fostoria won the third quarter, 19-10, to take a 40-38 lead into the final stanza. Fostoria took their first lead of the game at the 2:11 mark of the third quarter, 39-38. In the fourth quarter, which featured six ties, five lead changes and neither team led by more than two points until the final score, Fostoria took a 52-51 lead with 1:39 left on a three-point field goal. Wildcat junior Alyana Hahn went end-to-end with the ball and converted a layup with 53 seconds left to give Woodmore a 53-52 lead. It would be the Wildcat's last points. Fostoria converted a field goal with 35 seconds left to re-take the lead and with 9.5 seconds left converted two free throws to make it the final. Woodmore had a last-second shot that did not find the mark. On senior night, junior Macey Bauder led the Wildcats with 19 points and senior Camryn Ivy added 14 points. Fostoria had a 21-20 edge in field goals as both teams hit two three-pointers. Fostoria was 12-of-21 at the line, Woodmore was 11-of-17. JV - at Woodmore 42, Fostoria 30. Woodmore slowly built the lead from 12-7 after one quarter to 30-17 after three quarters. Sophomore Abby Sandrock led the way with 12 points and junior Olivia Vogelpohl added eight points.
Feb. 8 - Varsity - Woodmore 63, at Rossford 24. Woodmore went on a 32-4 run from early in the first quarter through most of the second quarter to pull away and post the Northern Buckeye Conference road game. Woodmore led 20-8 after one quarter and 35-12 at halftime. Junior Macey Bauder scored 18 points, 13 in the first half, and senior Camryn Ivy added 11 points, 10 in the first half. Nine different players found the scoresheet for the Wildcats. Woodmore had a 22-10 edge in field goals as both teams had one three-pointer. The Wildcats were 18-of-28 at the stripe while Rossford was 3-of-6. JV - Woodmore 21, at Rossford 3. In a two-quarter game, Woodmore led 12-0 after one quarter. Sophomore Cameran Quisno led Woodmore with seven points while sophomore Layla McGinnis added four points.
Feb. 1 - Varsity - Woodmore 70, at Fostoria 66 (OT). Junior Macey Bauder sank four free throws in the final 15.8 seconds of overtime to propel the Wildcats to the win. Bauder was fouled on an inbound play with 15.8 second left and canned both free throws. Then after Woodmore stole the ball from Fostoria on their ensuing possession, Bauder was fouled with 2.9 seconds left and she made both free throws to ice the game. Woodmore trailed most of the way. Fostoria led 16-7 after one quarter, 31-22 at halftime, and 49-39 after three quarters. But, Woodmore outscored Fostoria, 21-11, in the fourth to force the overtime with the teams tied at 60-all. Bauder scored 22 points, five in overtime, while seniors Camryn Ivy and Sophie Blausey scored 19 and 15, respectively. Ivy scored 11 of her points in the third quarter and Blausey scored 11 of her points in the fourth quarter. Both teams made 26 field goals, while Fostoria had all four three-pointers in the game. Woodmore was 18-of-28 at the line while Fostoria was 10-of-16. JV - Woodmore 39, at Fostoria 20. Woodmore led 8-5 after one quarter and 26-9 at halftime. Junior Paige Helmke scored nine points for the Wildcats while sophomore Abby Sandrock scored seven points. Sophomore Cameran Quisno and Layla McGinnis each contributed six points.
Jan. 29 - Varsity - Woodmore 68, at St. Joseph Central Catholic 18. Woodmore exploded for a 30-3 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Woodmore made five of its seven three-pointers in the first quarter as six different players scored. Senior Sophie Blausey had 11 of her game-high 24 points in the opening stanza. Woodmore led 49-7 at halftime. Junior Macey Bauder added 15 points and senior Camryn Ivy scored 12 points. Woodmore had a 25-8 edge in field goals and a 7-1 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore was 11-of-14 the line, SJCC was 1-of-2. JV - Woodmore 39, at St. Joseph Central Catholic 20. Woodmore led 7-6 after one quarter and 14-12 at halftime. They extended their advantage to 31-16 after three quarters. Freshman Kara Schnieder led the Wildcats with eight points, junior Olivia Vogelpohl and sophomore Layla McGinnis added six points each.
Jan. 27 - Varsity Elmwood 46, at Woodmore 42. The two teams exchanged the lead in the first half, Woodmore leading 11-9 after one quarter, and Elmwood led 15-12 at halftime. In the third quarter, Elmwood built a 24-15 lead with 4:03 left and after a Woodmore basket, the Royals scored eight of the next 10 points to take a 32-21 edge into the final quarter. Elmwood still led by 10 points (40-30) with 3:53 left in the game when Woodmore would score nine of the next 11 points to pull within 42-39 with 1:35 left. Seniors Camryn Ivy (five points) and Sophie Blausey (four points) keyed the run for the Wildcats. With 26.5 seconds left, Elmwood converted two free throws to make it 44-39. But, Blausey came down and converted a three-pointer with 17.5 seconds left to make it 44-42. After Elmwood converted one free throw with 15.6 seconds left, Woodmore failed to convert on its possession and Elmwood converted one more free throw with 2.9 seconds left to ice the game. Blausey led the Wildcats with 21 points while senior Sidney Wank added eight points and Ivy scored seven points. Elmwood had a 15-11 edge in field goals, but Woodmore had a 6-3 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore was 14-of-25 at the line, while Elmwood was 13-of-20. JV - at Woodmore 43, Elmwood 10. Woodmore built an 11-2 lead after one quarter and led 24-6 at halftime. Junior Olivia Vogelpohl led the Wildcats with 10 points. Junior Mackenzie Krukemyer added eight points. Freshman - at Perrysburg 38, Woodmore 28. Freshman Alivia Smith scored nine points for the Wildcats while freshman Kalle Heins added five points.
Jan. 22 - Varsity - at Woodmore 43, Genoa 29. From midway in the third quarter to the 3:12 mark of the fourth quarter Woodmore outscored Genoa, 23-6, to go from a 19-13 deficit to a 36-25 lead with 3:12 remaining. Genoa had built a 15-8 lead after one quarter and a 17-10 halftime edge. Senor Sidney Wank had 11 of her team-high 13 points for Woodmore in the third/fourth quarter run. Junior Macey Bauder added 10 points and senior Sophie Blausey scored nine points. Woodmore had a 12-10 edge in field goals, which included the only three three-point field goals made in the game. Genoa was 9-of-16 at the line, while Woodmore was 16-of-22. JV - at Woodmore 41, Genoa 9. Woodmore led 11-3 after one quarter and 18-3 at halftime. Eight different players scored for Woodmore led by 10 points from junior Mackenzie Krukemyer and nine points from junior Olivia Vogelpohl. Freshman - Evergreen 31, at Woodmore 13. Woodmore did not score in the first and fourth quarters in the loss. Evergreen led 16-8 at halftime and22-13 after three quarters. Freshman Alivia Smith led the Wildcats with seven points.
Jan. 20 - Varsity - Woodmore 69, at Otsego 28. Woodmore led 22-4 after one quarter and went on to post the NBC road win. Senior Camryn Ivy led the Wildcats with 23 points while senior Sophie Blausey added 17 points. Woodmore had a 31-11 edge in field goals and the Wildcats were 5-of-13 at the stripe while Otsego was 5-of-8. JV - Woodmore 39, at Otsego 19. Woodmore led 21-8 at halftime. Sophomore Cameran Quisno scored 12 points while freshman Kara Schneider added eight points. Freshman - Woodmore 31, at Otesgo 17. Woodmore led 10-0 after one quarter and 23-9 at halftime. Freshman Brooke Lowry led the way with 12 points, freshman Kara Schneider added eight points.
Jan. 18 - Varsity - at Lake 72, Woodmore 60. After trailing by 13 points in the first quarter and 15 points early in the second quarter, the Wildcats slowly worked their way back into the game late in the third quarter and early in the fourth. Lake scooted to a 13-point lead in the first quarter scoring nine unanswered points to make it 18-5 with 2:04 left. Lake led 20-9 after one quarter. Lake scored the first four points of the second quarter to take a 24-9 lead with 5:29 left. Woodmore would score the next seven points to close to within 24-16 with three minutes left and Lake took a 32-23 lead to the locker room. Again, Lake extended its lead to 37-23 with 6:52 left in the third quarter scoring the first five points. Woodmore would then score eight unanswered to pull within 37-31 with 3:12 left. Woodmore would then pull within two points, 46-44, with 33 seconds left in the third quarter after going on an 11-4 run. Lake notched a three-pointer at the end of the quarter to lead 49-46. After Lake scored the first basket of the fourth quarter, Woodmore would score five unanswered to pull within 52-51 with 5:59 left in the game. In a game that featured 48 fouls called, junior Macey Bauder led Woodmore with 22 points while seniors Camryn Ivy added 15 points and Sophie Blausey 10 points. Lake had a 26-20 edge in field goals, and an 8-4 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore was 16-of-31 from the stripe, Lake was 12-of-22. JV - Woodmore 36, Lake 15. The Wildcats outscored the Flyers, 23-1, in the second half to break open a 14-13 game at halftime. Sophomore Abby Sandrock and freshman Kara Schneider each scored 10 points for Woodmore.
Jan. 13 - Varsity - Woodmore 44, at Eastwood 40. In a close game all the way, Woodmore held the Eagles scoreless over the last 2:37 of the game scoring the final seven points of the game to pick up an important NBC road win. Eastwood led 9-8 after one quarter and Woodmore led 22-16 at halftime. The Wildcats took a 33-32 led into the final stanza after being outscored 16-11 in the third. In the final quarter, Eastwood took a 38-37 lead with 5:17 left and then the two teams went scoreless for almost three minutes. Eastwood broke the drought with a basket at the 2:37 mark to take a 40-37 lead. It was Eastwood's last points. Senior Camryn Ivy split two free throws with 2:13 left to make it 40-38, then Ivy converted a rebound lay up with 1:25 left to tie the game at 40. Ivy split two free throws with 36.3 seconds left to give Woodmore a 41-40 edge. Junior Macey Bauder then split two free throws with 19.4 seconds left to make it 42-40. She missed the second free toss and rebounded the miss and was fouled again with 13.8 seconds left. She missed the front end of the one-and-one and on Eastwood's trip up the floor the ball was poked away and after a scramble, Woodmore was awarded the ball out of bounds with 4.4 seconds left. The Eastwood bench was assessed a technical and senior Sophie Blausey made both free tosses to put the game away. Blausey led Woodmore with 16 points while Ivy added 10 points and Bauder scored nine points. Woodmore had a 17-14 edge in field goals, but Eastwood hit three three-pointers to one for Woodmore. The Wildcats were 9-of-14 at the stripe while Eastwood converted 9-of-13 free throws. JV - Woodmore 28, at Eastwood 14. Sophomores Abby Sandrock and Cameran Quisno each scored eight points to lead the Wildcats.
Jan. 10 - Varsity - at Woodmore 48, Port Clinton 17. The Wildcats broke open a close game for the first half outscoring Port Clinton, 19-5, in the third quarter to build a 36-15 lead. Woodmore led 8-2 after one quarter and 17-15 at halftime. Seniors Sophie Blausey and Camryn Ivy led the Wildcats with 14, and 13 points, respectively. Woodmore had a 20-7 edge in field goals and they were 6-of-14 at the stripe. Port Clinton hit both of its free throws. JV - at Woodmore 38, Port Clinton 25. Woodmore opened up a 14-12 halftime lead to 25-18 after three quarters, then won the final stanza, 13-7. Junior Paige Helmke led the Wildcats with 10 points while freshman Kara Schneider added nine points, and junior Mackenzie Krukemyer added eight points.

Dec. 28 - Varsity - at Lakota 57, Woodmore 56. In a close game all the way, Woodmore took the biggest lead of the game in the fourth quarter, but then went cold from the field. Lakota led 14-13 after one quarter and 30-28 at halftime. The two teams were tied at 44 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter, Woodmore scored the first eight points to take a 52-44 lead with 5:44 remaining. Woodmore still led be eight points (56-48) with 3:08 left. But, the Wildcats would not score again. Lakota got within one point (56-55) with 1:03 left, and took a one-point lead with 21.7 seconds left. Woodmore had two shots in the final seconds, but could not convert. Seniors Sophie Blausey and Camryn Ivy led Woodmore with 20 and 18 points, respectively. Junior Macey Bauder scored eight points. Ivy pulled down nine rebounds. Lakota had a 23-22 edge in field goals and a 6-2 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore was 10-of-15 at the line while Lakota made 5-of-9. JV - Woodmore 45, at Lakota 4. Dec. 23 - Varsity - at Liberty-Benton 64, Woodmore 42. After Liberty-Benton won the first quarter, 15-12, the home team used a 6-0 run and an 8-3 run in the second quarter to open up some breathing room as Woodmore would trail 32-21 at halftime. In the third quarter, Woodmore would get as close as eight points on three occasions, the last at 40-32 with 34 seconds left. Liberty-Benton led 42-32 heading to the final quarter and outscored the Wildcats, 22-10, in the final stanza to put the game away. Woodmore still only trailed by 10 points (49-39) with 5:18 remaining when Liberty-Benton went on a 13-2 run to build a 62-41 lead with 1:40 left. Senior Camryn Ivy led Woodmore with 16 points, 10 coming in the second half, while junior Macey Bauder added eight points and junior Jordan Beam scored seven points. Liberty-Benton had a 24-13 edge in field goals, including an 8-6 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore was 10-of-12 at the stripe, Liberty-Benton was 8-of-10 at the line. Woodmore led all the way, but Rossford pulled within two points early in the second quarter and were within single digits early in the fourth quarter but Woodmore earned the home Northern Buckeye Conference win. Woodmore led 15-8 after one quarter, 34-17 at halftime, and 44-33 after three quarters. Senior Sophie Blausey led the Wildcats with 16 points while junior Macey Bauder scored 15 points. Senior Camryn Ivy scored 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Blausey had eight rebounds. Woodmore had a 21-13 edge in field goals, but Rossford had five three-pointers to two for the Wildcats. Woodmore was 19-of-28 at the line, Rossford was 13-of-17. JV - at Woodmore 46, Rossford 14. Woodmore led 11-6 after one quarter and 20-9 at halftime then put the game away outscoring the Bulldogs, 17-2, in the third quarter to build a 37-11 advantage. Dec. 14 - Varsity - Woodmore 51, at Elmwood 41. The Wildcats earned an important road NBC win after having small leads after every quarter and winning the second half, 34-25. Woodmore led 11-10 after one quarter, 17-16 at halftime, and 37-32 after three quarters. Junior Macy Bauder led Woodmore with 23 points, 18 of those in the second half, while senior Sophie Blausey scored 16 points, eight in each half. Senior Camryn Ivy scored all eight of her points in the second half. Bauder, Blausey, and Ivy were the only Wildcat players to score in the second half. Woodmore had a 17-15 edge in field goals with both teams canning a pair of three-pointers. Woodmore was 15-of-23 at the line, Elmwood was 7-of-11. JV - Woodmore 38, at Elmwood 9. Woodmore built a 23-8 lead after three quarters and were led by 11 points from freshman Kara Schneider and nine points from sophomore Cameran Quisno.
Dec. 11 - Varsity - Woodmore 43, at Genoa 29. After falling behind 7-4 after the first quarter, Woodmore steadily pulled away to record the road NBC win. The Wildcats won the second quarter, 12-5, the third quarter, 13-8, and the final stanza, 14-9. Woodmore led 16-12 at halftime and 29-20 after three quarters. Junior Macey Bauder led the Wildcats with 10 points while seniors Sidney Wank and Camryn Ivy each scored eight points. Woodmore had a 14-10 edge in field goals and a 6-2 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore was 9-of-16 from the stripe, Genoa was 7-of-13. JV - Woodmore 43, at Genoa 7. Woodmore led 17-2 at halftime after holding Genoa scoreless in the first quarter. Dec. 7 - Varsity - Lake 70, at Woodmore 65 (OT). The Wildcats led by eight points with five minutes left in regulation, then were outscored, 12-7, in overtime dropping the Northern Buckeye Conference game at home. Woodmore led 13-12 after one quarter and 29-25 at halftime. Lake opened the third quarter on a 13-4 run to take a 38-33 lead with 4:25 left in the quarter. From that point until the 5:03 mark left in regulation, Woodmore would go on an 18-5 run to take a 51-43 lead. Lake would erase the deficit in less than one minute scoring the next nine points to take a 52-51 lead with 4:15 left. The teams went back-and-forth the rest of the quarter with Lake taking a 58-56 lead with 1:21 left on the three-pointer and Woodmore junior Macey Bauder sending the game to overtime with 21.6 seconds left with a pair of free throws. In overtime, Lake scored first with a field goal and Bauder canned a three-pointer at the 3:37 mark to give Woodmore its last lead, 61-60. Lake would score eight of the next nine points to take a 68-62 lead with 50.9 seconds left. Lake had a 24-18 edge in field goals and had an 11-3 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore went 26-of-43 at the line, while Lake was 11-of-18. Bauder ended with 21 points while senior Sophie Blausey added 15 points and junior Jordan Beam scored 10 points. Dec. 4 - Varsity - at Woodmore 67, Delta 40. The Wildcats raced out to a 12-4 edge after one quarter and increased the lead to 29-15 at halftime. Woodmore led 53-30 after three quarters. Senior Camryn Ivy led the way with 17 points while junior Macey Bauder added 16 points, senior Sophie Blausey had 13 points, and senior Sidney Wank scored 10 points. Woodmore had a 22-11 edge in field goals, a 5-4 edge in three-pointers. Woodmore was 11-of-20 from the line, Delta was 3-of-9. JV - at Woodmore 46, Delta 5. Dec. 2 - Varsity - Eastwood 46, at Woodmore 43 - Woodmore came back to tie the game late in the final quarter before Eastwood scored the final three points of the contest to earn the win. Eastwood took a 17-15 lead after one quarter and extended the advantage to 30-24 at halftime. Woodmore won the third quarter, 7-4, to trail 34-31 heading to the final stanza. Eastwood started the fourth quarter with a three-point play to make it 37-31, and they led 41-33 with 5:48 left. At that point, Woodmore would score the next seven points to pull within 41-40 with 2:28 left, the last points of the run on a three-point play from senior Sophie Blausey. Eastwood converted two free throws with 53.9 seconds left to make it a three-point game (43-40). Blausey tied the game with another three-point play with 38.9 seconds left on a rebound lay-up and the free throw. Eastwood came right down and converted a lay-up with 26.6 seconds left to take a 45-43 lead. After a Woodmore missed a field goal attempt, Eastwood converted one of two free tosses with 5.4 seconds left and Woodmore missed a three-point attempt at the buzzer. Blausey led the Wildcats with 18 points and six rebounds while senior Camryn Ivy added 10 points. Woodmore had a 17-16 edge in field goals, but Eastwood had the only thee-pointer of the night. Woodmore was 9-of-14 at the stripe while Eastwood was 13-of-18. JV - at Woodmore 24, Eastwood 19. After the two teams battled evenly for three quarters, Woodmore won the fourth quarter, 9-4, to win the game. Sophomore Abby Sandrock led the Wildcats with six points while junior Olivia Vogelpohl and sophomore Cameran Quisno contributed five points apiece.
Nov. 26 - Varsity - at Woodmore 66, Otsego 7. The Wildcats scored the first 17 points in the game and led 21-1 after one quarter before going on to win their Northern Buckeye Conference opener. Junior Macey Bauder led the Wildcats with 18 points while junior Alayna Hahn (11 pts.) and senior Sophie Blausey (10) were also in double figures. Nine different players found the scoresheet in the game. Woodmore had a 27-3 edge in field goals and were 8-of-15 at the stripe. Otsego was 1-of-2 at the foul line. JV - The Wildcats broke open a close game early by winning the second quarter, 19-6, to take a 25-10 halftime edge. Eight different players scored for Woodmore led by 17 points from sophomore Cameran Quisno. Freshman Kara Schneider scored 10 points and junior Paige Helmke and sophomore Layla McGinnis added eight points each. Freshman - at Woodmore 49, Otsego 14. Woodmore opened up a 16-4 first-quarter leave and extended that to 23-8 at halftime on their way to victory. Ten different Wildcat players scored it the game led by eight points from freshman Macie Grove and Kara Schneider. Freshman Addison Huss added seven points and freshman Kalle Heins had six points.
Nov. 23 - Varsity - at Woodmore 67, Gibsonburg 27. The Wildcats opened the season with the victory. Woodmore broke open a close game for a quarter-and-a-half with a late run in the second quarter to take a 33-22 advantage to the locker room. Woodmore then outscored the Golden Bears, 18-3, in the third quarter to take a 51-25 edge and eased to the victory. Senior Sophie Blausey led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds. She had both Woodmore three-pointers in the game. Junior Macey Bauder scored 16 points and handed out six assists. Seniors Camryn Ivy and Autumn Bowen each contributed eight points. Woodmore, who had 10 players score in the game, had a 25-9 edge in field goals and were 11-of-17 at the charity stripe. Gibsonburg was 1-of-5 at the line. JV - at Woodmore 38, Gibsonburg 2 - Junior Mackenzie Krukemyer led the Wildcats with nine points while sophomore Emma Hammer scored six points. Junior Olivia Vogelpohl and freshmen Cameran Quisno and Kara Schneider each scored five points. Gibsonburg scored their two points in the first quarter. Freshman - Fremont Ross 22, at Woodmore 20 - Freshman Kara Schneider led Woodmore with seven points and freshman Brooke Lowry added five points as the Wildcats had a shot at the buzzer to either tie or win the game.
