Oct. 21 - Varsity - Genoa 31, at Woodmore 0 - Genoa scored all 31 points in the first half on three scoring pass plays and two runs for scores. Woodmore was outgained, 361-148. Woodmore had 13 first downs and 126 yards on the ground. Genoa had 13 first downs and 269 passing yards. Junior Jack Caldwell has 20 carries for 83 yards.
Oct. 14 - Varsity - at Otsego 58, Woodmore 7 - Junior Jack Caldwell scored the only Wildcat touchdown with a 75-yard run midway through the fourth quarter. Caldwell finished the game with nine carries for 80 yards. Otsego scored five touchdowns in the first quarter and outgained the Wildcats, 376-132, for the game. Woodmore had nine yards passing and 123 on the ground while Otsego had 139 rushing yards and 237 through the air. Otsego had 16 first downs to three for the Wildcats.
Oct. 7 - Varsity - at Fostoria 34, Woodmore 28 - The Wildcats fell behind 14-0 with 3:00 left in the first quarter, but fought back to tie the game by halftime as sophomore Jack Caldwell had a short scoring run at the mid-point of the second quarter and Woodmore tied the game at 14 on a 21-yard touchdown pass from freshman Michael Seeger to freshman Landon Rich just four seconds before halftime. Fostoria scored 14 unanswered points to start the second half to build a 28-14 edge with 4:17 left in the third quarter. Caldwell added his second touchdown of the night on a 64-yard run with 1:33 left in the third quarter to make it 28-21. Fostoria scored on an 91-yard pass play with 8:05 left in the final stanza to make it 34-21. Seeger scored on a short run with 17 seconds left in the game to make it 34-28. Fostoria then recovered the onside kick to secure the win. Woodmore had a 64-42 edge in plays, but Fostoria had a 420-307 edge in total yards. Fostoria had 335 yards passing while Woodmore had 214 yards rushing behind Caldwell's 19 carries for 140 yards. Seeger was 7-of-16 passing for 93 yards. Fostoria had 17 first downs to 14 for the Wildcats.
Sept. 30 - Varsity - Rossford 63, at Woodmore 7 - The two teams traded touchdowns in the first quarter, but that would be the last time the Wildcats would find the scoreboard while Rossford was scoring 56 unanswered points. Rossford led 56-7 at halftime. Rossford had a 441-348 edge in total offense as they had 291 passing yards and 150 on the ground. Woodmore had 325 rushing yards and 23 through the air. Sophomore Jack Caldwell rushed 17 times for 137 yards to lead the Wildcats. Freshman Landon Rich, who scored the lone Woodmore touchdown on a 14-yard run in the first quarter, had 14 carries for 100 yards. Senior Garret Geldine carried eight times for 66 yards. Rossford had 23 first downs to 16 for Woodmore while the Wildcats had all four turnovers in the game, all fumbles.
Sept. 23 - Varsity - at Elmwood 53, Woodmore 0 - The Wildcats were outgained, 441-182, getting 62 passing yards and 120 yards on the ground. Sophomore Jack Caldwell rushed 20 times for 65 yards. Freshman Gavin Herrig was 4-of-9 passing for 62 yards. Freshman Michael Seeger had three catches for 47 yards. Woodmore ran 51 plays to 28 for Elmwood. Elmwood had 16 first downs to nine for Woodmore.
Sept. 16 Varsity - at Lake 49, Woodmore 7 - Lake scored in every quarter and held a 35-0 lead at halftime. Woodmore scored on the first play of the fourth quarter, a 74-yard run by freshman Landon Rich. Freshman Logan McGinnis added the extra point. Four of Lake's touchdowns covered 37 or more yards, two via the ground and two pass plays. Rich ran the ball eight times for 106 yards and sophomore Jack Caldwell rushed 19 times for 81 yards. Woodmore had 231 yards on the ground and 21 yards passing. Woodmore was 2-of-11 passing. Lake had 305 yards on the ground and 132 passing. Woodmore had 11 first downs to 10 for Lake.
Sept. 9 - Varsity - Eastwood 70, at Woodmore 7 - Eastwood scored in all four quarters, including 28 points in the second and fourth quarters. Woodmore scored its only points with 4:35 left in the game as freshman Landon Rich ran 65 yards for the touchdown. Rich carried four times in the game for 64 yards. Eastwood ran 41 plays compared to 32 for the Wildcats. Eastwood had 466 yards of total offense (447 rushing) compared to 148 for Woodmore. Woodmore had 92 yards rushing and 56 yards passing. Freshman quarterback Gavin Herrig completed 3-of-9 passes, three of those to freshman Michael Seeger for 53 yards. Woodmore had the only turnover in the game and the Wildcats were guilty of five penalties for 30 yards.
Sept. 2 - Varsity - at Woodmore 7, St. Joseph Central Catholic 0 (1 OT) - The two teams battled to a scoreless tie in regulation time, but Woodmore scored on its second play in the first overtime then held SJCC out of the end zone on its possession to end an 11-game losing streak. Both teams had scoring chances in regulation, but could not cash in. In overtime, Woodmore possessed the ball first and junior Jack Caldwell ran nine yards on the first play from the 20-yard line. He then finished the short drive by scoring from 11 yards out on a run around right end and Woodmore was on the scoreboard. Sophomore Logan McGinnis kicked the extra point. On SJCC's possession in the extra period, they ran the ball for 14 yards on the first play, but were guilty of an illegal formation on the next play. Their second play was a fumbled snap that lost six yards. After a completed pass that did not gain any yards, a pass into the end zone was intercepted by freshman Michael Seeger and the Wildcats had cemented the win. Woodmore had a 234-132 edge in total yards in the game as the Wildcats had 13 first downs and SJCC 11. Woodmore had 223 yards rushing in the game with Caldwell carrying 26 times for 143 yards. Senior Garrett Geldine ran 14 times for 62 yards. SJCC had 60 yards passing and 72 yards on the ground. Each team was guilty of three turnovers.
Aug. 26 - Varsity - Gibsonburg 61, at Woodmore 13 - Gibsonburg scored the first 48 points in the game before the Wildcats scored on the last play of the first half to make it 48-7. Gibsonburg would scored twice in the second half to once for Woodmore. Gibsonburg piled up 495 yards of total offense on 33 plays, 436 of that coming on the ground. Woodmore had 201 yards of total offense on 49 plays with 159 yards coming on the ground. Both senior Logan Lopez and freshman Gavin Herrig were 2-of-6 passing, Herrig for 28 yards and Lopez for 14 yards. Junior Jack Caldwell ran 18 times for 96 yards. Woodmore's scoring play at the end of the first half was a Herrig to freshman Michael Seeger 23-yard pass play. Caldwell ran for a 4-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for the Wildcats' other score.
Aug. 20 - JV - at Bluffton 72, Woodmore 8.
Aug. 19 - Varsity - at North Central 24, Woodmore 0 - Woodmore was held scoreless in the season opener as they were outgained, 199-109. Woodmore got 99 yards passing from senior Logan Lopez on 6-of-21 passing. Woodmore would manage 10 yards rushing for the game. Sophomore Jack Caldwell led the rushing attack with 16 yards on six carries. North Central scored a touchdown in the first, second and fourth quarters. They had 175 of their yards on the ground.
Oct. 31 - Woodmore had two players earn all-league honors in the recent vote of the Northern Buckeye Conference coaches. Junior Jacob Roginski was an honorable mention pick at linebacker. He led the Wildcats with 69 tackles, 19 for a loss. Senior Drew St. John was also an honorable mention selection. St. John was an offensive tackle for the Wildcats.
Oct. 30 - Varsity - at St. Joseph CC 27, Woodmore 7 - The Wildcats outgained the Crimson Streaks, 336 to 192, and had 18 first downs to six for St. Joe, but came up short on the scoreboard. Senior Blake Almroth completed 13-of-27 passes for 154 yards and one score, a 28-yard pass to junior Quentin Trevino early in the fourth quarter. Senior Ashton Schneider caught six of Almroth's completions for 64 yards. Almroth also had 17 carries for 69 yards while junior Garrett Geldine had nine carries for 67 yards. Woodmore ran 73 plays to 37 for St. Joe. SJCC scored on a running play in the first quarter, a long pass play in the third quarter, a short run in the third quarter, and a running play in the fourth quarter.
Oct. 22- Varsity - at Genoa 49, Woodmore 12 - The Wildcats gave up 42 points in the first half, then won the second half, 12-6. The Wildcats scored twice in the fourth quarter, sophomore Jack Caldwell on a five-yard run, and freshman Jesse Gutierrez on a six-yard run. The Wildcats rushed for 171 of their 178 yards of total offense. Gutierrez rushed for 64 yards on 13 carries while senior Ashton Schneider had 52 yards on the ground on 11 carries. Caldwell rushed for 22 yards and senior Blake Almroth had 19 yards rushing and he was 2-of-7 passing. Genoa had 366 yards of total offense, 192 of those on the ground, and scored three times on runs, three times on passes and they have one interception return for a score.
Oct. 15 - Varsity - Otsego 42, at Woodmore 6 - Otsego scored the first 42 points, all in the first half with 28 coming in the first quarter, before the Wildcats scored on their opening drive of the second half as freshman Jesse Gutierrez ran 10 yards for the score. Gutierrez ran 17 times for 110 yards as the Wildcats rushed for 148 yards. Senior Blake Almroth completed 2-of-6 passes for 16 yards. Otsego rushed for 224 yards of their 268 yards of total offense.
Oct. 8/9 - Varsity - Fostoria 8, at Woodmore 7 - Fostoria scored a fourth-quarter touchdown and converted a 2-point pass to earn the Northern Buckeye Conference win. The game was suspended at halftime on Friday because of weather with Woodmore leading 7-0 after sophomore Jack Caldwell scored on a 19-yard run in the second quarter and senior Blake Almroth converted the extra point. The two teams came back at 1:00 on Saturday to complete the game by playing the second half. Almroth completed 4-of-8 passes for 57 yards with sophomore Brayden Brubaker catching two passes for 36 yards, and senior Ashton Schneider also had two receptions. Junior Garrett Geldine rushed 14 times for 64 yards. Woodmore had a 207-183 edge in total offense and their 12 first downs were one more than Fostoria
Sept. 17 - Varsity - Lake 41, at Woodmore 6 - Lake scored all six touchdowns on the ground and had 219 total yards on the ground. Woodmore scored with 3:52 left in the game as freshman Jesse Gutierrez ran four yards to paydirt. Lake had 263 yards of total offense while Woodmore had 105 yards. Gutierrez ran 20 times for 71 of the Wildcats yards. Lake had a 14-6 edge in first downs.
Sept. 10 - Varsity - at Eastwood 63, Woodmore 0 - The Wildcats managed 66 yards total offense and three first downs in the Northern Buckeye Conference opener. Senior Blake Almroth rushed for 32 yards on nine carries while he was 2-of-4 passing for seven yards. Eastwood had four rushing touchdowns and four through the air along with a fumble return for touchdown. Eastwood had 323 yards of total offense.
Sept. 3 - Varsity - at Lakota 54, Woodmore 0 - The Wildcats managed just 35 yards of total offense and two first downs in the game. Senior Blake Almroth was 1-of-8 passing for six yards and sophomore Jack Caldwell rushed eight times for 15 yards. Lakota scored six touchdowns on the ground, had one interception they returned for a touchdown, and one passing touchdown. Lakota had 333 yards of total offense.
Aug. 28 - JV - Gibsonburg 38, at Woodmore 0
Aug. 27 - Varsity - at Gibsonburg 63, Woodmore 0 - The Wildcats had -21 yards of total offense and two first downs in the game. Senior Blake Almroth was 6-of-14 passing for 28 yards and freshman Jesse Gutierrez rushed four times for four yards. Gibsonburg scored nine touchdowns on the ground and recorded one safety. Gibsonburg had 415 yards of total offense, 391 of that on the ground.
Aug. 21 - JV - at Northwood 38, Woodmore 0
Aug. 20 - Varsity - Northwood 34, at Woodmore 0 - The Wildcats managed just 25 yards of total offense in the season opener. Northwood scored all five touchdowns on runs, four of them over 18 yards. Their scoring runs accounted for 124 of their 246 yards on the ground. Northwood had 41 passing yards on 4-of-6 passing while Woodmore had -10 yards on the ground and 35 in the air. Northwood ran 57 plays to 40 for the Wildcats while Northwood had three turnovers and Woodmore turned the ball over twice. Northwood had 14 first downs to three for Woodmore and each team was guilty of five penalties. Northwood scored in each quarter, scoring twice in the second quarter. Senior Blake Almroth was 6-of-15 passing for the Wildcats.
