Sandwisch Still Alive; Magsig Eliminated at District Tournament

3/3/17 - In the first round of wrestling at the Div. III district meet hosted by Waite High School, Wodmore's two qualifiers, juniors Peter Magsig and Tyler Sandwsch, both lost.  Sandwisch, wrestling in the 113-pound weight class, lost a 6-0 decision to Wil Roth from Sandusky St. Mary Central Catholic and Magsig, wrestling in the 182-pound weight class, lost his first match to Dylan Rogers from Delta by pin.  In their consolation bracket matches, Sandwisch won his match by pin in 55 seconds over Daniel White from Cory-Rawson to stay alive in the tournament while Magsig lost by technical fall (18-3) to Joey Kasper from Edison to fall out of the tournament.  Sandwisch, who needs two wins tomorrow to reach the match to place (top six place) and three wins to earn a trip to the state tournament next weekend by reaching the match for third place.  His first match tomorrow morning will be against Darion Tracy from Ayersville.
