Wildcats Place Seventh in Own Tournament

1/7/17 - The Wildcat wrestling team placed seventh of 15 teams in their own "A" Classic contested at Wildcat Gymnasium collecting 163 team points.  Gibsonburg was the team champion with 298 points.  Senior Conor Emch and junior Tyler Sandwisch won their respective weight classes to lead Woodmore.  Emch won the 138-pound weight division with a 12-3 win over Brennan Short from Archbold in the final.  Emch recorded his 100th career win earlier in the tournament.  Sandwisch captured the 113-pound division by pinning Austin Baker from Archbold in the championship match.  Woodmore had one third-place finisher and one fourth place.  Freshman Brett Sandwisch placed third at 106 pounds by defeating Dawson Liechty from Archbold by an 11-0 score.  Placing fourth was junior Robert Berry at 120 pounds.  He lost to Wyatt Lucas from Arcadia, by pin, in the third-place match.  Other Woodmore wrestlers to place included: freshman Chase Dickerson at 106 pounds who won his match for fifth-place over Jordan Marczak from Arcadia by a 9-0 score; junior Peter Magsig was sixth at 195 pounds and junior Josh Parlette was sixth at 285 pounds.
