2/25/17 - The Woodmore wrestling team will have two athletes moving on to compete next weekend in the Div. III district meet which will be hosted by Waite High School.  Junior Tyler Sandwisch earned his ticket to the next level by finishing third (top four in each weight class advance) in the 113-pound weight class.  Sandwisch defeated Cameron Pollard from Otsego, 13-6, to place third.  Sandwisch was 3-1 in the sectional.  The other wrestler to advance was junior Peter Magsig at 182 pounds by placing fourth.  Magsig was pinned by Jace Grossman from Elmwood in the third-place match, but will wrestle next week in the district meet. Magsig was 2-2 in the tournament.  Woodmore had three wrestlers in the match for fifth-place.  Senior Conor Emch, at 132 pounds, won his match against Dary Endicott from Lakota, 4-3, and he will serve as an alternate for the district meet.  Freshman Brett Sandwisch, at 106 pounds, lost his match to Dylan Collins from Gibsonburg, 19-5, and junior Robert Berry at 120 pounds lost to Cody Collins from Eastwood by pin.  The Wildcats finished 11th as a team in the 14-team field with 50 points.
