Varsity Has One Champion, Two Placers at NBC Meet

The varsity wrestling team had one champion and two placers at the Northern Buckeye Conference Championships hosted by Genoa. Junior Conor Emch won the league title at 132 pounds defeating Austin Struble from Fostoria, 8-6, in the championship match. Emch won all three of his matches in the tournament. Sophomore Tyler Sandwisch advanced to the championship match at 106 pounds before losing to Oscar Sanchez from Genoa by pin in the final to place second. He was 1-1 in the tournament. Junior Jacob Amstutz was the other Wildcat wrestler to place advancing to the third-place match where he lost, 10-2, to Jacob Hahn from Eastwood to place fourth. Amstutz was 2-2 in the tournament. The Wildcats placed sixth in the Championships with 50 points. Genoa won the league title with 199.5 points.
