Day 1 of Div. III Sectional - at Lake High School

2/24/17 - The Wildcats wrestling team is 11th of 14 teams in the Div. III sectional at Lake High School with 16 points after the first day.  Woodmore has two wrestlers still alive in the winners bracket as senior Conor Emch won both his matches at 132 pounds and will wrestle Tanner Krotzer from Rossford in the semifinals tomorrow while junior Tyler Sandwisch won his only match at 113 pounds and will wrestle Cameron Dickman from Oak Harbor in the semifinals.  The Wildcats have five wrestlers with one loss who will need two wins tomorrow to earn a trip to the district tournament - freshman Brett Sandwisch at 106 pounds, junior Robert Berry at 120 pounds, senior Jacob Amstutz at 126 pounds, junior Peter Magsig at 182 pounds, and junior Josh Parlette at 285 pounds. Freshman Clay Rickard lost both his matches at 152 pounds to drop out of the tournament.  The sectional concludes Saturday with wrestling starting at 10 a.m.  The top four finishers in each weight class advance to the district tournament next weekend at Waite High School.
