Wildcats Split Doubleheader; JV Sweep

Game 1

The Wildcats scored nine runs in the third and fourth innings of their six-inning win at home against Port Clinton in the first game of a doubleheader.  Woodmore scored two runs in the first inning on a two-run double from junior Katelynn Marshall.  They then exploded for six runs in the third inning as six differnt players hard RBI.  Freshman Brooke Allen accounted for the three runs in the fourth inning with a three-run home run.  Marshall was 2-for-3 with three RBI in the game and Allen was 2-for-4 with three RBI.  Sophomore Lizzy Cook and sophomore Sydni Buhrow also had two hits.  Buhrow was the winning pitcher going the distance and striking out four.

Game 2

Woodmore   2 0 1  0 2 - 5  1  2
Woodmore lost the second game of the doubleheader collecting only one hit, a fifth inning single from sophomore Macie Wellons.  Sophomore Sydni Buhrow went the distance on the mound and struck out five.

Junior Varsity - Game 1
Woodmore 13, at Port Clinton 5
Junior Delany Hablitzel tossed a complete game with five strikeouts while allowing only two earned runs.  Sophomore Libby Almroth went 4-for-4 with five RBI on three singles and a double.  Freshman Jordan Turner had two singles and three runs scored.  Sophomore Jena Haar had three singles which drove in three runs.

Junior Varsity - Game 2
Woodmore 17, at Port Clinton 3 (5 innings)
Freshman Jordan Turner tossed three innings allowing no runs with four strikeouts.  Sophomore Grace McCarthy pitched the final two innings allowing two runs with two strikeouts.  McCarthy scored four runs and had one hit and walked twice while sophomore Jenna Haar was 2-for-4 with four RBI.  Freshman Abbygaile Lawrence was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
