The Woodmore varsity softball team opened the season with a game that will not soon be forgotten.  The Wildcats trailed 10-1 after 5 1/2 innings at home against Lakota to open the season and proceeded to score 12 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to turn, what looked like a loss, into a come-from-behind win for the ages.  Senior Mackenzie Nighswander had plated Woodmore lone run in the fourth inning with an RBI single until the sixth inning. Nighswander drew a bases loaded walk, the first of four walks Woodmore would have in the sixth, to start the inning going.  Winning pitcher, sophomore Sydni Buhrow, then plated the second run with an RBI single.  Senior Katelynn Marshall then lifted a pop up to right field between the right fielder and second baseman with the bases loaded and all three runners scored.  Marshall then scored on a wild pitch.  Sophomore Macie Wellons then drew a walk and was driven home on a double by junior Kayla Bosh.  Bosh would later score to make the score 10-9.  Freshman Brooke Allen then gave the Wildcats the lead with a two-run home run to left field that made it 11-10.  Woodmore would tack on two more runs before being retired in the frame.  Woodmore scored 12 runs on five hits in the inning while stealing two bases.  The Wildcats used six Lakota errors to extend the inning, in addition to the walks and one passed ball.  Buhrow then collected two of her six strikeouts in the top of the seventh to retire the Raiders in order to earn the complete-game win.  She allowed just two earned runs.  Buhrow had three hits in the game while four other players had two hits.
