Junior Varsity: Woodmore, 25-10
Woodmore won its league opener at home over Fostoria as freshman Sydni Buhrow went the distance on the mound striking out five.  The offense also contributed as senior Morgan Witt stroked an RBI double in the first inning to get Woodmore on the board.  After Fostoria took the lead in the third inning, a pair of Woodmore runs in the fourth inning gave the Wildcats a temporary lead.  Junior Mackenzie Nighswander drove in one of the runs with a single and the other run scored on an error.  After Fostoria tied the game in the top of the fifth, senior Marena Hartford put the Wildcats ahead for good with and RBI single and Buhrow followed with a two-run double.  Freshman Marcie Wellons had an RBI single in the three-run sixth inning and the Wildcats scored the other two runs on an error and a wild pitch.  Hartford had two hits in the game as did Wellons.  It is the first league win on the field for the Wildcats since the 2014 season.  Woodmore had one league win last season but that came via a forfeit.
