Woodmore   0 0 1    5 0 2    1 - 9    11    4
Junior Varsity:  Genoa, 23-12
The softball team scored nine runs but two six-run innings by Genoa were the difference in the Northern Buckeye Conference game.  The first six-run inning by Genoa, in the fourth inning, gave them a 9-1 lead.  But, Woodmore countered with a five-run bottom of the fourth inning on the strength of a two-run single from freshman Macie Wellons and a three-run home run from sophomore Katelynn Marshall.  After another six-run frame in the fifth for Genoa built a 15-6 lead, WHS would score two runs in the bottom of the sixth on a second Marshall home run, this time a two-run shot.  And, in the seventh, Woodmore scored a run on an RBI single by freshman Lizzy Cook.  Wellons was 3-for-5 in the game while Marshall was 2-for-5.  Sophomore Mackenzie Nighswander also had three hits in the game.
