Woodmore Fourth at Gibsonburg

4/20/18 - The girls track and field team placed fourth in the 12-team Gibsonburg Invitational with 82.5 points.  Lake won the invite with 106.5 points while Swanton had 95 and Rossford finished with 88 points.  The Wildcats had one individual and one relay champion.  Freshman Olivia Thatcher won the 3200 with a time of 12:26.76 while the 3200 relay team of junior Nora LaMunyon, Thatcher, freshman Greta Bauder, and freshman Ava Beam also won its event with a time of 10:20.15, which set a meet record.  The two runner-up finishes were both turned in by Beam in the 1600 (5:43.46) and 3200 (12:30.09).  Picking up third-place points was sophomore Claire Rothert in the 100 hurdles running 16.81, Thatcher in the 1600 with a time of 5:49.49, and senior Emily Wegert in the 200 with a time of 27.51.  The 800 relay team of freshman Sidney Gillig, LaMunyon, Rothert, and Wegert were timed in 1:54.99 to place third.  Rothert turned in the only fourth-place finish in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.84.  Placing fifth was Wegert in the 100 with a time of 13.43, senior Carly Rothert in the high jump clearing 4-6, and the 1600 relay team of Bauder, Gillig, Wegert, and LaMunyon in a time of 4:39.37.  Bauder was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:41.71 and Gillig tied for sixth in the pole vault clearing 7-0.
