Wildcats Second in League Meet

5/13/17 - The track and field team had the Northern Buckeye Conference champion in three events and finished second to Eastwood in the league meet with 123 points.  Eastwood won the team title with 154 points.  Lake was third in the meet with 109 points.  The three league champions were junior Annalicia Torres in the shot put with a toss of 42-3 3/4 breaking her own meet record of 38-2 1/2 set last year, senior Lily Rothert in the 800 where her time of 2:25.82 was the fastest in the event, and senior Samantha Sedlmeier in the 32000 where her time was 12:34.22.  Woodmore had four runner-up finishes.  Torres was second in the discus with a best of 123-6, senior Liz Koenig was the runner-up in the high jump, clearing 5-2, and the long jump where her best was 17-0, and Sedlmeier in the 1600 with a time of 5:36.18.  Earning third-place points was Lily Rothert in the long jump, with a best of 16-8 1/2, and 1600 running a time of 5:37.10, and freshman Claire Rothert in the 300 hurdles, with a time of 49.03, and in the 100 hurdles (16.29).  The 800 relay team of senior Camryn Bench, junior Carly Rothert, Claire Rothert, and junior Emily Wegert finished third in a time of 1:52.33.  Other placers (top eight in each event score team points) included: Carly Rothert in the high jump (4th, 5-0), Wegert in the 100 (6th, 13.23) and 200 (4th, 27.03), Bench in the 200 (6th, 27.65), senior Kate Barbee in the 3200 (4th, 13:24.29) and Koenig in the 100 hurdles (4th, 16.47).  The 400 relay foursome of Bench, Carly Rothert, Claire Rothert, and Wegert placed fourth in a time of 53.95.
