The varsity track and field team had three placers on the final day of the OHSAA Div. III regional meet held at Frost Kalnow Stadium in Tiffin and they finished the meet with 15 points to place 16th out of the 43 schools who scored points. Two Woodmore athletes just missed tickets to the state track meet next weekend in Columbus with fifth-place finishes (the top four in each event advance to the state meet - top eight in each event final score team points). Junior Courtney Burner was fifth in the 1600 running a time of 5:35.57, a little more than four seconds behind the fourth-place finisher. And, sophomore Liz Koenig had a best effort of 16-2 in the long jump, which was a little more than 3 inches behind the fourth-place finisher. Freshman Annalicia Torres placed sixth in the discus with a best of 111-6, a little less than 12 feet behind the state qualifier in fourth-place. Woodmore had athletes in two other events on the final day of the regional meet. Junior Jesse Wegert finished 10th in the 800 with a time of 2:32.06 while Burner was 14th in the same race with a time of 2:36.06. In the pole vault, senior Sarah Blausey was 16th clearing 8-0 and junior Jessica Sotak placed 12th after clearing 9-0.
