Girls Will Have Six Athletes in Four Events at State Meet

5/26/18 - The Woodmore track and field team with have six athletes competing in four events at the Div. III state track meet June 1-2 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the Ohio State campus.  The state meet begins Friday (June 1) morning with the Div. III running events while the field events will be contested in the afternoon.  Admission is $10 per day.  The 3200 relay team of freshman Ava Beam, freshman Greta Bauder, freshman Olivia Thatcher, and junior Nora LaMunyon will run the final of their event to open the meet at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.  The relay team has the 14th-best time in the field of 18.  Senior Carly Rothert has the 17th-best time in the 100 hurdles and she will run in the first heat.  Her sister, Claire, also has the 17th-best time in the 300 hurdles and she is slotted in the second heat.  Thatcher qualified in the 3200 where she will have the 17th-best time when the race begins at 11:30 on Saturday.  The top 2 in each of two heats and the next five fastest will advance to the finals in the two hurdle races.  The 3200 relay on Friday and the 3200 on Saturday are finals.  Fans attending the meet are ask to access Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium using Ackerman Road or Lane Avenue exits off of state route 315.The schedule for the Woodmore athletes is as follows:

Friday, June 1
9:30 - Finals in the 3200 relay (Ava Beam, Greta Bauder, Olivia Thatcher, Nora LaMunyon)
10:00 - Semifinals in the 100 hurdles (Carly Rothert)
11:20 - Semifinals in the 300 hurdles (Claire Rothert)

Sat., June 2
9:30 - Finals in the 100 hurdles (Carly Rothert, if qualifies in Friday's semifinals)
10:40 - Finals in the 300 hurdles (Claire Rothert, if qualifies in Friday's semifinal)
11:30 - Finals in the 3200 (Olivia Thatcher)
