Girls Team Second at Rossford

5/2/17 - The girls track and field team was second at a Northern Buckeye Conference tri-meet at Rossford with 55 points.  Eastwood won the meet with 69.5 points while Rossford had 39.5.  The Wildcats won five events with junior Annalicia Torres and freshman Claire Rothert both winning twice.  Torres won the discus with a best of 103-2 and the shot put with a toss of 40-4 1/2.  Rothert won the two hurdles events - the 100 in a time of 16.5 and the 300 event in 50.6.  Senior Liz Koenig took the high jump competition clearing 5-0.  Earning second-place points was senior Samantha Sedlmeier in the 1600 running a time of 6:02.9, senior Lily Rothert in the 400 (1:05.6) and 200 (28.0), junior Carly Rothert in the high jump clearing 5-0, and Koenig in the long jump with a best of 16-11 1/2.  Two relay teams placed second.  The 800 relay foursome of senior Camryn Bench, L. Rothert, Cl. Rothert and junior Emily Wegert were second in a time of 1:55.9 and the 400 relay group of Bench, Koenig, Cl. Rothert, and Wegert were the runner-up in a time of 55.2.  Koenig was third in the 100 hurdles running a time of 17.4.
