Girls Second at Port Clinton

4/27/18 - The girls track and field team finished second among nine teams in the Port Clinton Invitational with 96 points.  Oak Harbor took the team title with 158 points.  The Wildcats had two event winners as freshman Olivia Thatcher took the 3200 running 12:15.71 and sophomore Claire Rothert won the 100 hurdles in 16.44.  Earning second-place points was senior Emily Wegert in the 200 with a time of 27.77, freshman Ava Beam in the 1600 (5:33.79) and 3200 (12:20.40), and the 3200 relay team of junior Nora LaMunyon, Thatcher, freshman Greta Bauder, and Beam in a time of 10:20.11.  Third-place finishes were turned in by Thatcher in the 1600 in 5:42.89, Claire Rothert in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.58, and senior Carly Rothert in the high jump (4-10) and long jump (14-5 1/2).  Also placing for the Wildcats was: Bauder in the 800 (6th, 2:40.14), LaMunyon in the 800 (8th, 2:43.31), and senior Julia Nagy in the pole vault (6th, 7-6).  The 800 relay team of freshman Sidney Gillig, LaMunyon, Claire Rothert, and Wegert were fifth in a time of 1:55.80.  The 1600 relay foursome of Wegert, Gillig, Claire Rothert, and LaMunyon was sixth in 4:31.68.
