Girls Second at Oak Harbor Tri to Open Season

3/28/17 - The girls varsity track team placed second in a tri-meet at Oak Harbor with 44 points.  The host school won the meet with 88.5 points while Elmwood finished with 27.5 points.  Woodmore athletes won four events.  Junior Emily Wegert won the 100 with a time of 13.63, senior Samantha Sedlmeier won the 3200 with a time of 13:35.00, senior Liz Koenig won the long jump with a best of 14-11 3/4 , and junior Annalicia Torres won the shot put with a toss of 38-1 1/2.  Second-place finishers included Wegert in the 200 with a time of 28.38, senior Lily Rothert in the 400 with a time of 1:04.18, senior Kate Barbee with a time of 2:52.52 in the 800, Torres in the discus with a toss of 106-10, and the 1600 relay team of Koenig, Rothert, Barbee, and senior Amber Zarella with a time of 4:49.60.  Earning third-place points was Rothert in the 200 with a time of 28.62, Sedlmeier in the 1600 with a time of 6:07.63, and Koenig in the 100 hurdles (18.26) and high jump (4-8).
