Girls Fourth at Lakota

4/8/17 - The Wildcats compiled 90.5 points to place fourth among the 14 teams in the Lakota Invitational.  Woodmore had athletes win three events.  Junior Annalicia Torres won both the shot put (37-4 3/4) and the discus (112-8) while junior Emily Wegert won the 100 with a time of 13.23.  Senior Liz Koenig placed (top eight in each event score team points) in four events - she was second in the long jump (14-0 3/4), tied for third in the high jump (4-10), fourth in the 300 hurdles (54.17), and fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.56).  Wegert was third in the 200 with a time of 28.41 while senior Camryn Bench was fourth in 28.53.  The only other placers in the top three were two relay teams.  The 800 relay group of Bench, senior Amber Zarella, freshman Claire Rothert, and Wegert had a time of 1:55.30 to place third.  And, the same foursome teamed up in the 400 relay and ran a time of 53.87 to place third.  Others who placed in the in the meet included: Rothert in the 100 hurdles (4th, 17.16), senior Samantha Sedlmeier in the 1600 (5th, 5:55.02) and 3200 (4th, 13:44.24), senior Kate Barbee in the 1600 (8th, 6:10.15).
