Successful Wildcat Season Comes to Close With District Loss

The girls varsity soccer team (16-2-1) saw another successful season come to a close in the Div. III district tournament as the Wildcats dropped a district semifinal game to Archbold, 3-1, to see its season come to an end. The Wildcats broke on top in the game scoring with 23 minutes left in the first half as sophomore Hayley Freund scored on a shot from right of the net about 15 yards out. Archbold evened the game at halftime scoring with approximately 13 minutes left in the opening 40 minutes. The two teams then played 25 minutes into the second half before Archbold scored to take the lead with about 15 minutes left and then added an insurance goal with 3:21 left. The loss put an end to a 13-game Wildcat winning streak. The Wildcats finished the season with a 16-2-1 record. The girls soccer program has compiled a 48-6-5 record the last three seasons.
