Hines is NBC Player of the Year; Five Others Earn All-League

The girls varsity soccer team was represented by six players on the Northern Buckeye Conference all-league team picked by the league coaches. The NBC champs had the player of the year in senior midfielder Maddy Hines. Hines, who is also a first-team all-league pick, ended the season with 12 goals and four assists. Other first-team team All-NBC selections included sophomore Carly Rothert and senior Jessie Wegert at defender positions, junior Lily Rothert in the midfield and junior Camryn Bench at forward. Rothert and Wegert keyed a defense that allowed only nine goals all season. Rothert had one goal while Wegert had four goals and three assists. Lily Rothert led the team with 15 goals and 12 assists while Bench had 11 goals and nine assists for the season. Sophomore Hayley Freund earned a spot on the second team after scoring 11 goals and assisting on five. Hines was a first-team Div. III all-district selection, Lily Rothert earned second-team all-district accolades and Bench and Carly Rothert were honorable mention all-district selections.
