Lily Rothert Earns Second-Team All-State; Four Earn All-District

12/7/16 - Senior midfielder Lily Rothert was named to the second-team all-state squad as picked by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association.  Rothert tied for the team lead with 20 goals and added 17 assists, the team leader.  She was named the Player of the Year in the Northern Buckeye Conference and was a first-team all-district pick by the coaches association.  Joining Rothert on the first-team all-district team was junior Carly Rothert.  Carly, who was a first-team All-NBC pick, was third on the team with 17 goals and added one assist.  Earning honorable mention all-district accolades was junior Hayley Freund an freshman Claire Rothert.  Freund, a first-team all-conference selection, scored 20 goals and assisted on seven others while Claire scored 15 goals and added two assists.  Claire Rothert was an honorable mention All-NBC pick.  This is the third successive season the Wildcat program has had an all-state selection.  Lily Rothert joins Sarah Blausey (2nd team all-state, 2014) and Maddy Hines (1st team all -state, 2015) as Wildcats who have earned all-state honors.  The Wildcats finished the 2016 season with a 17-2-1 record, the second-highest win total behind the 18 wins by the 2013 squad.  The Wildcats advanced to the Div. III regional semifinal game this season.  The girls soccer program has compiled a 65-8-7 record over the last four years winning three Northern Buckeye Conference titles in that time span.
