Girls Advance in State Tournament With Win

10/17/16 - The Wildcat girls soccer team advanced in the Div. III state tournament with an opening round win at home over Delta, 7-0.  Woodmore broke open a scoreless sectional semifinal contest with three goals in just over five minutes in the early portion of the first half.  Junior Hayley Freund scored two of those goals, 33 seconds apart, one with 31:34 left in the half and the other with 31:01 left.  Senior Lily Rothert added the third tally of the half with 26:27 left.  Sophomore Maddie Thatcher got the Wildcats going in the second half with a score at 32:34 and an own goal with just over 25 minutes left made it 5-0.  Freshman Claire Rothert scored with 15:02 left and senior Camryn Bench added another tally with 3:28 remaining.  Sophomores Paige Schmeltz and Nora LaMunyon each had assists.  Sophomore Katelyn Aliemenious did not have to make a save in goal for the Wildcats.  Woodmore had 43 shots in the game.
