Girls Soccer Program Searching for Head Coach

1/18/18 - Woodmore High School is looking to fill its vacancy as the varsity girls soccer coach.  The Wildcats are a Div. III program that competes in the Northern Buckeye Conference.  Candidates should have previous interscholastic girls soccer coaching experience and evidence of strong leadership, management and communication skills.  Any interested candidate should forward letter of interest, resume, and references to: Steve Barr, Athletic Director, Woodmore High School, 633 Fremont Street, Elmore, Ohio 43416; or via e-mail at: sbarr@woodmoreschools.com.  Deadline is Feb. 2.

Wildcats Have Six on All-League Team

11/8/17 - The Woodmore girls soccer team had six players named to the Northern Buckeye Conference all-league team as selected by the league's six head coaches.  The lone first-team selection was sophomore goalkeeper Phoebe Jackson, who shared the first-team slot with senior Chandler Davidson from Eastwood.  Earning second-team honors was senior Breanna Coffman and Katie Brugger as defenders and sophomore attacker Claire Rothert.  Senior Clarissa Chavez and freshman Autumn Beaudoin were both honorable mention midfielders.  The Wildcats finished second in the NBC behind league champion Lake by one point.  Lake's Sophie Jackson was the Player of the Year.

Wildcats Lose Sectional Final at Huron

10/18/17 - The Woodmore girls soccer team (9-5-4) saw its season come to an end with a 1-0 loss at Huron in the Div. III sectional final.  The lone goal of the game came with 19 minutes left.  Sophomore Phoebe Jackson had 13 saves in goal for the Wildcats while Huron had a 21-7 edge in shots.

10/16/17 - The Woodmore girls soccer team opened Div. III state tournament play with a 1-0 win at home over Evergreen.  The lone goal of the game came from sophomore Claire Rothert with 10:10 left in the game off a pass from junior Katie Brugger.  Woodmore had a 13-4 edge in shots and sophomore goalkeeper Phoebe Jackson was credited with two saves.  Woodmore advances to the sectional final Wednesday against the winner of the Huron-Toledo Christian game.  Woodmore, the #6 seed, would travel to Huron (#4 seed) if they win.  Woodmore would host Toledo Christian (#13 seed) if they won.  The game Wednesday is likely to start at 5 p.m. no matter where it is played.

Wildcats End Regular Season with Road NBC Win

11/12/17 - The Woodmore girls soccer team (8-4-4, 7-1-2 NBC) concluded the regular season with an 11-0 win on the road at Otsego.  Six different players scored goals.  Sophomore Claire Rothert scored four goals, freshmen Greta Bauder and Autumn Beaudoin each had a pair of goals, seniors Hayley Freund and Breanna Coffman anlong with junior Nora LaMunyon each scored on goal.  Beaudoin had two assists along with LaMunyon while Bauder, Freund, and sophomore Jordan Nighswander each had one assist.  Senior Phoebe Jackson had one save in goal and freshman Olivia Heidebrink had two saves for the Wildcats. Woodmore had a 39-3 edge in shots in the game.  The girls team opens Div. III state tournament play Oct. 16 hosting Evergreen.

Woodmore Earns Tie at Van Buren

10/10/17 - The Wildcats went on the road in non-league play and earned a 1-1 tie at Van Buren.  Senior Hayley Freund scored the lone Wildcat goal and sophomore Phoebe Jackson had four saves in goal.  Woodmore had a 10-8 edge in shots.

Woodmore Opens the State Tournament at Home on Oct. 16

10/9/17 - The Woodmore girls soccer team begins the Div. III state tournament trail on Oct. 16 hosting Evergreen at 5 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.  Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students.  All tickets will be sold at the game.  The winner of the Woodmore-Evergreen game will play the winner of the Huron-Toledo Christian game on Oct. 18 at the site of the higher seed in the sectional final.  Woodmore is the #6 seed while Evergreen is the #11 seed.  Huron is the #4 seed and Toledo Christian is seeded 13th.

10/5/17 - The Woodmore girls soccer team (7-4-3, 6-1-2 NBC) could only manage one goal, but is was enough in a 1-0 win at home over Eastwood. Sophomore Claire Rothert knocked home the only goal with 30:23 left in the second half.  Woodmore had a 14-9 edge in shots and sophomore goalkeeper Phoebe Jackson was credited with four saves.  Woodmore has won its last three games and has a 4-0-1 mark in its last five contests.

10/2/17 - The Woodmore girls soccer team scored all its goals in the first half on their way to a 3-1 win at Genoa in Northern Buckeye Conference play.  Freshman Autumn Beaudoin got the Wildcats on the board first in the opening half.  Junior Katie Brugger got the assist.  Junior Nora LaMunyon and freshman Greta Bauder added goals later in the half.  Bauder assisted on LaMunyon's goal and Beaudoin assisted on Bauder's goal.  Sophomore Phoebe Jackson was credited with seven saves in goal.

Wildcats Earn Home Win

9/30/17 - The Woodmore girls soccer team scored twice in the second half to break a scoreless tie and defeat Genoa at home in Northern Buckeye Conference play, 2-0.  After a scoreless first half, freshman Autumn Beaudoin found the back of the net with 23:14 left in the second half on an assist from junior Katie Brugger.  Sophomore Claire Rothert iced the game with a goal just 1:07 before the end of the game with freshman Greta Bauder drawing the assist.  Woodmore was outshot, 18-12, as sophomore goalkeeper Phoebe Jackson had 14 saves to earn the shutout.
