Woodmore Earns Home League Win

12/16/16 - Varsity -  The Wildcats (4-3, 2-2 NBC) built a 45-30 edge after three quarters then hung on in the final quarter to earn a 57-46 win over Fostoria in Northern Buckeye Conference play.  Fostoria closed the deficit to as little as four points on two occasions in the final stanza, the final time with 1:30 left at 50-46.  Woodmore would then score the last seven points of the game to earn the win.  Senior Lily Rothert led the Wildcats with 11 points while senior Liz Koenig added 10 points, eight in the second half.  Fostoria held a slim 14-13 edge after one quarter, but Woodmore outscored the Redmen, 32-16, in the middle two quarters.  Junior varsity - The junior varsity won the first two quarters to lead 18-7 at halftime then held on in the second half to post a 36-27 win.  Freshman Macie Wellons led the Wildcats with 14 points while freshmen Claire Rothert and Jordan Nighswander scored seven points apiece.  There were 65 free throws shot in the game.
