Wildcats Win Twice at Rossford

1/6/17 - Varsity - The Wildcats (8-4, 5-2 NBC) came back to tie their game at Rossford after being down in the fourth quarter, only to see a pair of free tosses by the Bulldogs late send the game to overtime tied at 50.  Woodmore led the entire overtime eventually posting a 58-53 win.  Senior Lily Rothert, who had 12 points in the game, scored five of those points in overtime to key the victory.  Junior Hayley Freund added 12 points, eight of those in the second half.  Senior Kate Barbee and sophomore Katie Brugger each scored eight points for the Wildcats who have now won four straight games.  Woodmore led 11-8 after the first quarter and 26-21 at halftime.  Rossford took a 36-33 lead into the final quarter.  Junior varsity - The Wildcats held Rossford to two points in each of the first two quarters for build a 15-4 halftime edge then coasted to a 34-19 win.  Freshman Claire Rothert scored eight points to lead Woodmore while freshman Macie Wellons added seven points, and sophomores Alex Liskai and Maddie Thatcher each scored six points.
