Wildcats Sweep on the Road at Fostoria

1/24/17 - Varsity - The Wildcats (9-6, 6-4 NBC) scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to blow open a 10-point game heading into the final quarter and earn a 66-47 Northern Buckeye Conference victory on the road.  Woodmore led 16-11 after one quarter and outscored the Redmen 13-4 in the second quarter to take a 29-15 halftime lead.  Fostoria won the third quarter, 19-15, and scored the first three points of the fourth quarter to make the score 44-37.  The Wildcats would score 21 of the next 25 points to take their biggest advantage, 65-41, late in the fourth quarter.  Senior Liz Koenig led the Wildcats with 16 points, 11 in the second half and nine in the fourth quarter.  Also in double figures was seniors Lily Rothert, with 12 points, and Kate Barbee, with 10 points, and sophomore Nora LaMunyon with 11 points.  Junior varsity - Woodmore increased a six-point (15-9) lead after one quarter to 13 points at halftime (26-13) winning the second stanza 11-4, and went on to post a 43-31 victory.  The Wildcats still led by 12 points (33-21) after three quarters.  Freshman Claire Rothert led a very balanced attack with nine points.  Junior Lauren Wolph and sophomore Maddie Thatcher each scored six points while four more players scored five points each.
