Wildcats Host Port Clinton

11/24/17 - The Wildcat varsity team opened the season earning a workmanlike, 53-21, win at home over Port Clinton.  After building a 13-2 lead after one quarter, the Wildcats were never threatened leading 28-5 at halftime and 40-12 after three quarters.  The Wildcats hit two of their four three-pointers in the opening frame as senior Hayley Freund had one of those and five points in the quarter to lead the attack.  Freund led a balanced Wildcat scoring sheet with 12 points.  Junior Katie Brugger also had a three-pointer in the first quarter and ended the game with nine points.  Freshman Brooke Allen and sophomore Jordan Nighswander each chipped in with eight points apiece.  Allen scored all eight of her points in the first half, six in the second quarter.  In all, nine different Wildcats players scored points in the game.  Junior Varsity: Port Clinton 41, at Woodmore 31.  Port Clinton outscored the Wildcats, 22-8, in the fourth quarter to come from behind and earn the win.  Freshman Olivia Thatcher led the Wildcats with nine points, sophomore Sydni Buhrow added eight points, and Freshman Sidney Gillig scored six points.
