Wildcats Drop NBC Opener on the Road

11/30/17 - The girls varsity team lost its first game of the season, a 70-51 decision at Eastwood, in the Northern Buckeye Conference opener.  Woodmore fell behind late in the opening stanza and eventually trailed, 22-13, after the opening quarter.  Eastwood increased its advantage to 37-24 at halftime and still led 51-39 after three quarters.  The Woodmore disadvantage was never less that double digits at any point in the fourth quarter.  Eastwood put the game away with a 9-0 run in the middle portion of the fourth quarter that increased a 54-43 edge to 63-43 with 4:24 left.  Woodmore had several chances to get the disadvantage under 10 points late in the third quarter but could not convert.  Freshman Brooke Allen led he Wildcats with 17 points while senior Hayley Freund added 12 points.  Allen scored nine of her points in the fourth quarter.  Sophomore Jordan Nighswander has six points and eight rebounds.  Junior Varsity - The Wildcats led after every quarter on their way to a 29-20 victory.  Woodmore road a 10-4 lead after one quarter to the victory slowly building that advantage over the final three quarters.  Freshman Olivia Thatcher led the Wildcats with 13 points, sophomore Syndi Buhrow added six points.
