Two Players Earn All-League Honors

Woodmore placed two players - junior guards Kate Barbee and Lily Rothert - on the Northern Buckeye Conference all-league teams picked by the conference head coaches. Barbee was a second-team selection and Rothert was one of six honorable mention selections. Barbee has played in 21 of the 22 games this season and is averaging 6.2 points, third on the team, 2.9 assists per game, tops on the team, 3.7 steals per game, second on the team, and 4.2 rebounds, second on the squad. Rothert has played in all 22 games this season and leads the team averaging 7.0 points per game while her 3.8 rebounds per game is third on the team. Her 2.0 assists per game is second on the team and she lead the Wildcats averaging 4.4 steals per contest. Haley Pickard from Genoa was the league's Player of the Year. The girls team begins Div. III state tournament play Wednesday when they play Swanton in the second game of the sectional tournament at Springfield High School that night. The Woodmore-Swanrton game is schedule to start at approximately 8 p.m. The winner of that game plays the winner of the Evergreen-Gibsonburg at 2:45 on Feb. 20 back at Springfield.
