Wildcats Drop NBC Opener

9/15/17 - The football team didn't score until Rossford was ahead 28-0 in the first quarter as the Wildcats lost a 58-28 decision in the Northern Buckeye Conference opener for both teams.  After Rossford scored on its first four possessions, the Wildcats scored at the end of the opening stanza on a 61-yard pass-run from senior quarterback Donovan Reyes to junior Taityn Rollins.  Woodmore added a second quarter score as Reyes hooked up with sophomore Dylan LaFountain on a 58-yard pass-run play as the Wildcats trailed 51-14 at halftime.  The Wildcats scored twice in the third quarter as senior Zach Matwiejczyk, who had 13 carries for 99 yards in the game, had a 25-yard run and freshman Aaron Sandrock returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown.  Rossford outgained the Wildcats, 497-299, as the Wildcats had 149 yards passing and 150 rushing.  Rossford rushed for 431 yards.  Rossford had 20 first downs to 10 for Woodmore while the Wildcats had four turnovers, all lost fumbles.  Reyes was 6-of-14 passing for 149 yards and two scores while Rollins caught two passes for 78 yards and LaFountain had two receptions for 58 yards.
