Wildcats Drop League Opener on the Road

9/16/16 - The Woodmore football team was held to 136 yards total offense by Otsego in losing the Northern Buckeye Conference opener on the road, 48-10.  Otsego scored a pair of touchdowns in each of the first three quarters to build a 42-10 advantage as they piled up 450 yards of total offense, 313 of those yards on the ground.  Otsego opened the scoring just over four minutes into the game, but the Wildcats answered as senior Conner Haas went around the left end on a 68-yard run for a touchdown to even the score at 7-all with 6:40 left in the first quarter.  But, Haas' run would be almost half of the Wildcat offense for the game.  Otsego would score the next three touchdowns before Woodmore would get a 49-yard field goal from senior DJ Wellons at the halftime gun to make it 28-10 at the break.  The field goal eclipses the previous school record of 44 yards by Wellons last year and JR Ribe in 2002.  Otsego would score with its first possession of the second half and score two more times before the end of the game.  Otsego had 16 first downs to six for Woodmore.  Haas carried 11 times for 86 yards while junior Donovan Reyes was 9-of-20 passing for 52 yards.  Wellons had five receptions for 20 yards.
