Morris Earns Ticket to Regional Meet; Boys 11th, Girls 8th in District Meet

10/22/16 - Freshman Faith Morris earned a spot in the Div. III regional meet next week in Tiffin with a fifth-place finish in the district meet conducted at Amann Park in Galion.  Morris ran a time of 20:03.35 to place fifth among the 88 runners.  The top 16 individual finishers earn a trip to the regional meet.  Morris helped the girls to an eighth-place team finish in the district meet with 196 points.  Senior Kate Barbee was the next Wildcat runner across the finish line in 22:18.57 and fellow senior Noelle Freund placed 55th in a time of 23:44.89.  Other Woodmore runners included: junior Mackenzie Nighswander (64th, 24:33.75), freshman Madeline Shuler (65th, 24:55.13), and freshman Caitlyn Hammer (68th, 25:31.08).  On the boys side, the top finisher was junior Joey Emerine who was three spots out of qualifying in 19th place in a time of 17:50.22.  The final qualifying time was 17:35.06.  The boys team finished 11th with 254 points.  Sophomore Ethan Davis finished 51st in a time of 19:22.10 while freshman Pierce Overmyer was 53rd in 19:30.60.  Other Wildcats runners included: sophomore Jimmy Grzegorczyk (63rd, 20:10.74), sophomore Bryson Wargo (69th, 20:26.33), freshman Cole sotak (73rd, 20:37.96), and senior Jacob Murray (84th, 21:53.34).  The Div. III regional meet will be contested at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin.  The Div. III girls race is scheduled to begin at 1:30.
