Wildcats Second at Home NBC Tri-Meet

4/25/17-The track and field team piled up 58 points to finish second in a home tri-meet with Northern Buckeye Conference members Otsego (65 points) and Lake (51 points).  Woodmore athletes won five events and two relays.  Junior Jeremy Schiavone won the 100, in a time of 11.8, and the 200, in a time of 23.4, while freshman Grant Perry took the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.8 and seniors Ben Wilt and J.T. Atkin won the discus and long jump, respectively.  Wilt threw 159-11 and Atkin's best in the long jump was 21-0 1/4.  The 400 relay team of Atkin, junior Eli Rogers, senior Jacob Murray, and Schiavone ran 45.7 to win the event while the same foursome combined in the 800 relay to run 1:34.4 and win that event.  Earning second-place points was freshman Paul Koenig in the 800 running a time of 2:15.8, Murray in the 200 with a time of 24.9, freshman Pierce Overmyer in the 3200 with a time of 11:45.0, freshman Cole Sotak in the pole vault clearing 11-6, and Wilt in the shot put (44-2 1/2).  Also earning team points for the Wildcats was: Rogers in the 100 (3rd, 12.4) and 200 (4th, 25.1), sophomore Jimmy Grzegorczyk in the 800 (3rd, 2:20.3), sophomore Ethan Davis in the 3200 (4th, 13:08.0), and Murray in the long jump (3rd, 17-8 1/4).
