Wildcats Fifth at Lakota

4/8/17 - The Wildcats were fifth of 16 teams in the Lakota Invitational with 69 points.  Oak Harbor was the team champion with 142.5 points and were followed by Hopewell-Loudon (83), Patrick Henry (80), and Otsego (70).  Woodmore has two champions in the meet - senior Ben Wilt took the discus with a toss of 156-5 and senior JT Atkin won the long jump with a best of 19-6.  Both athletes placed in another event - Wilt was second in the shot put (46-6 3/4) and Atkin fifth in the high jump clearing 5-6.  Woodmore had one other runner-up finish and a pair of thirds.  Freshman Cole Sotak was second in the pole vault clearing 11-6, junior Jeremy Schiavone was third in the 400 with a time of 53.39, and freshman Paul Koenig was third in the 1600 running 4:52.52.  Other placers (top eight in each event scored team points) included: Schiavone in the 100 (4th, 11.69), Koenig in the 800 (6th, 2:17.76), the 6400 relay team of freshman Pierce Overmyer, freshman Jonathan Kigar, sophomore Ethan Davis, and freshman Nick Reedy placed 8th in a time of 23:10.74, the shuttle hurdle relay team of freshman Grant Perry, freshman Dean Walter, freshman Marty Perkins, and freshman Javier Slaughter placed sixth in a time of 1:20.48, the 400 relay team of freshman Clay Rickard, junior Eli Rogers, senior Jacob Murray, and Schiavone placed sixth in a time of 48.18, and the 800 relay foursome of Walter, Rogers, Murray, and Schiavone placed seventh in 1:41.00.
