Wildcats Fifth at Gibsonburg

4/21/17 - The track and field team piled up 70 points in the Gibsonburg Invitational to earn fifth-place.  Swanton won the meet with 107 points.  The boys team had two winners.  Freshman Paul Koenig won the 3200 in a time of 10:37.43 while the 400 relay foursome of freshman Clay Rickard, junior Eli Rogers, senior Jacob Murray, and junior Jeremy Schiavone posted the top time of 47.39.  The three runner-up finishes were turned in by freshman Cole Sotak in the pole vault with a best of 11-6, Koenig in the the 1600 with a time of 4:57.75, and Schiavone in the 200 with a time of 23.18.  Other placers (top eight in each event score points) included sophomore Michael Lindhorst in the discus (5th, 112-7), Schiavone in the 100 (4th, 11.46), and sophomore Jimmy Grzegorczyk in the 800 (5th, 2:13.30).  The 3200 relay group of Grzegorczyk, freshman Pierce Overmyer, freshman Nick Reedy, and Koenig placed fourth in a time of 9:31.78.  The 800 relay of freshman Dean Walter, Rogers, Murray, and Schiavone was sixth in 1:39.25 and the 1600 relay foursome of Rogers, Murray, Walter, and Grzegorczyk were seventh in a time of 4:05.97.
