Track Team Second at Div. III District Meet

5/20/17 - The track and field team had one champion and placers in five other events on the second day of the Div. III district meet at Gibsonburg to hold onto second place as team in the meet with 56 points.  Northern Buckeye Conference champion Eastwood won the team title with 174 points.  Toledo Christian was third with 53 points.  The champion for the Wildcats was junior Jeremy Schiavone in the 200 where his time of 22.64 was the best in the field.  Schiavone was also part of two relays that placed second and he was third in the 100 with a time of 11.27 (the top four finishers in each event qualify for the regional meet next week in Tiffin).  The 800 relay team of senior JT Atkin, junior Eli Rogers, freshman Daniel Giesler and Schiavone were second in a time of 1:32.66 while the same foursome combined to finish second in the 400 relay running a time of 44.70.  Also earning a spot in the regional meet next week was senior Ben Wilt who placed third in the discus with a best of 150-9.  Freshman Paul Koenig placed in the 1600 finishing seventh in a time of 4:45.01.  Woodmore has six athletes advancing to next week's Div. III regional meet in Tiffin at Frost Kalnow Stadium behind Tiffin Columbian High School in seven different events.
