Track Team Fourth at Port Clinton

4/28/17 - The track and field team placed fourth in the eight-team Port Clinton Invitational with 67 points.  Oak Harbor won the meet with 162 points.  The boys team did not have a winner in any event, but had four runner-up finishes.  Junior Jeremy Schiavone was second in the 200 (23.48) while freshman Paul Koenig was the runner-up in the 1600 (4:46.96) and the 3200 (10:44.15).  Freshman Cole Sotak cleared 12-0 in the pole vault to finish second.  Two relays placed third.  The 400 foursome of freshman Daniel Giesler, junior Eli Rogers, senior Jacob Murray, and Schiavone ran a time of 46.30 while the same four athletes ran a time of 1:35.53 in the 800 relay to place third.  Other scorers (top eight in each event scored) included: Schiavone in the 100 (4th, 11.83), sophomore Jimmy Grzegorczyk in the 800 (6th, 2:12.89) and pole vault (7th, 9-6), freshman Grant Perry in the 300 hurdles (8th, 51.33), sophomore Michael Lindhorst in the discus (8th, 102-2), and senior Ben Wilt in the shot put (4th, 44-7).  The 3200 relay group of freshman Nick Reedy, sophomore Ethan Davis, freshman Jonathan Kigar, and freshman Pierce Overmyer placed seventh in a time of 10:02.07.
