10/22/16 - The Woodmore boys soccer team drew the #2 seed and Northern Buckeye Conference champions Lake, on their home field, in the Div. III sectional final and pushed the Flyers to the edge before losing a hard-fought 2-1 decision.  The two teams played a scoreless first half before Lake scored first with 33:00 minutes left.  Woodmore countered just 1:05 later as junior Eli Rogers scored off an assist from sophomore Hayden Heidebrink and the game was back to even.  Lake netted the game-winner with 15:58 left.  Woodmore junior goalie Kevin Paul, who had 17 saves in the game, made three point-blank saves in with approximately 23 minutes left to keep the game even before Lake scored the winner.  Woodmore had two or three good offensive chances in the final 15 minutes, but couldn't push across the tying goal.  The Wildcats completed the season with a 7-10-1 overall record.
