10/4/18 - The Woodmore boy soccer team stayed perfect in Northern Buckeye Conference play with a 5-2 win at home over Eastwood.  With the win, Woodmore improved to 9-0 in league play and 13-1 overall.  After senior Alec Garcia opened the scoring with a goal with 37:48 left in the first half, on a assist from senior Hayden Heidebrink, Eastwood scored both its goals to take a 2-1 lead.  Garcia's goal was his 24th this season and 48th of his career to eclipse the career record for goals of 47 set by Malachi Brown (2010-13).  Woodmore scored twice in a four minute span late in the half to take the lead for good.  Garcia notched his second of the game with 12:03 left and senior Cole Anthony scored with 8:15 left as Woodmore led 3-2 at half.  Heidebrink assisted on Garcia's second goal and Garcia assisted on Anthony's goal.  Heidebrink made it 4-2 with 33:54 left in the game as his penalty kick was saved by the goalkeeper but he banged home the rebound.  Garcia scored his third of the game with 38.1 seconds left off an assist from senior Sam Barbee.  Sophomore Zach Hunt had eight saves in goal and Woodmore had 38 shots.  Garcia now has 26 goals this season, one away from tying the school single-season record set by Brown in 2013.  Heidebrink, who has 20 goals this season, also has 24 assists, the school record, while his career total of 42 assists is also the school mark.
