Wildcats Move on in State Tourney with Home Win

10/18/16 - Woodmore broke open a 1-0 game at halftime with Toledo Christian in the opening game of the Div. III sectional with two goals in the first five minutes of the second half and went on to post an 8-0 victory.  The only goal of the first half was a tally by sophomore Hayden Heidebrink with 15:21 left.  Junior Eli Rogers then scored with 36:24 left in the second half and Heidebrink opened the flood gates even more with his second goal with 34:17 left.  Senior Matt Duslak scored with 22:24 left before senior Connor Whitney scored three straight goals, with 14:09 left, 12:08 left, and with 7:28 remaining.  Sophomore Sam Barbee closed out the scoring with a tally with 40 seconds left.  Junior Kevin Paul was credited with eight saves.  Heidebrink and sophomore Cole Anthony earned assists.  The Wildcats, the #7 seed, advance to the sectional final against #2 seed Lake at 4:30 on Saturday (Oct. 22).  The game will be played at Lake High School.
