Woodmore Hosts Rossford

2/10/18 - Varsity - Rossford 49, at Woodmore 32. After Rossford held a 9-7 lead at then end of the first quarter scoring the final basket of the frame, the Bulldogs added three more baskets to start the second quarter to build a 16-7 bulge.  Woodmore then closed the quarter on an 8-3 run to close the gap to 19-15 at halftime.  The Wildcats managed just four points in the third quarter and Rossford scored 11 of the last 13 points in the quarter as Woodmore trailed 32-19 heading to the fourth quarter.  Seven straight points by Rossford early in the fourth quarter put them ahead, 41-25, with 4:02 left.  And the teams traded points for the remainder of the quarter.  Woodmore's last lead was 7-6 late in the first quarter.  Senior Mitchell Miller led seven Wildcat scorers with eight points while senior Kevin Paul and junior Hayden Heidebrink scored five points each.  Rossford had 21 field goals in the game compared to 12 for Woodmore while  both teams had four free throws.  Junior Varsity - at Woodmore 51, Rossford 49.  Woodmore outscored Rossford 16-13 in the fourth quarter to earn the win.  Rossford held a slim 36-35 lead after three quarters.  Sophomore Paul Koenig led Woodmore with 19 points, 14 in the second half, while sophomore Andrew Barringer added 12 points.   Woodmore led 13-7 after one quarter and 22-20 at halftime.  Freshman - at Woodmore 41, Rossford 30.  Woodmore outscored Rossford in the second quarter by a 13-5 count to take a 25-18 halftime edge and never looked back in earning the win.  Isaac Betancourt led the Wildcats with 20 points, DJ Melter added six points.  Seven different players scored for Woodmore.
