Woodmore Hosts Elmwood

12/19/17 - Varsity - at Woodmore 67, Elmwood 50.  After holding a 12-9 lead after one quarter, the Wildcats outscored the visitors, 21-6, in the second quarter to take a 33-15 lead to the locker room.  Senior Mitchell Miller, who scored 17 points in the game, hit three three-pointers and scored 11 of his points in the second quarter.  The two teams played an even third quarter and Woodmore took a 48-31 lead into the final stanza where both teams scored 19 points.  Also in double figures for the Wildcats was junior Drew Burner who had 16 points, 13 of those in the second half, and junior Sam Barbee, who scored 14 points, nine in the second half.  Woodmore led by at least 14 points the entire second half.  Junior Varsity - at Woodmore 46, Elwmood 36.  Woodmore turned a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter (30-29) into a 10-point victory winning the fourth quarter, 16-7.  Sophomore Paul Koenig led the Wildcats with 17 points, sophomore Cade Burroughs added 11 points, and junior Jimmy Grzegorczyk scored 10 points.  Grzegorczyk scored seven of his points in the final quarter while Burroughs had nine of his points in the second half.  Freshman - at Woodmore 28, Elmwood 24 (ot).  Neither team made a field goal in overtime and Woodmore made six free throws to two for Elmwood to earn the win.  Elmwood forced overtime with a field goal with six seconds left in regulation.  Hunter Allen led the Wildcats with eight points, Isaac Betancourt and DJ Melter each contributed seven points.
