Wildcats Win NBC Road Game

2/6/18 - Varsity - Woodmore 57, at Elmwood 43.  Woodmore took command of the game in the third quarter outscoring Elmwood, 12-2, at one juncture of the quarter to build a 14-point bulge and went on to the Northern Buckeye Conference win.  Elmwood scored the first four points of the game before Woodmore worked its way back into the quarter and led 15-14 at its conclusion.  Woodmore then scored the first five points of the second quarter and eight of the first 12 points to take a 23-18 lead.  Woodmore settled for a 27-21 advantage at halftime.  After the teams traded a pair of baskets to start the third quarter, Woodmore would go on its run to lead 41-27 at the end of the frame.  Including the first four points of the fourth quarter and eight of the first 10 points to build a 49-29 lead with 4:40 left, Woodmore outscored the Royals, 20-6 to build the 20-point lead.  Six different players scored for Woodmore in the run.  After Woodmore led by 20, Elmwood countered by scoring 11 of the next 12 points to cut the deficit to 50-40 with 2:24 left.  But, the Wildcats would cash 5-of-6 free throws around a field goal down the stretch to ice the victory.  Senior Mitchell Miller led the Wildcats with 20 points while junior Drew Burner scored 10 points.  Junior Logan Mierzejewski added eight points as eight different players scored. Junior Varsity - at Elmwood 56, Woodmore 40.  The Wildcats trailed after each quarter and were outscored 15-7 in the fourth quarter.  Sophomore Paul Koenig led Woodmore with 13 points while sophomore Cade Burroughs added eight points.  Freshman - Woodmore 26, at Elmwood 24.  Woodmore led after each quarter, including a 20-13 lead after three quarters, then hung on for the win.  Hunter Allen had eight points to lead Woodmore.  Isaac Betancourt added seven points, and Ethan McNair scored six points.
