Wildcats Take NBC Road Contest

12/21/17 - Varsity - Woodmore 82, at Lake 56.  The Wildcats built at 15-point cushion (26-9) early in the second quarter before Lake would make a run to close the gap to 10 points (40-30) at halftime.  The Wildcats put the game away with a 12-0 run in the third quarter to turn a 45-34 lead into a 57-34 advantage with 2:21 left in the third quarter.  Eventually, the Wildcats led by as many as 29 points (77-48) in the fourth quarter.  Junior Drew Burner, who took game scoring honors with 32 points, had a pair of three-point field goals to highlight the deciding run in the third quarter.   Lake got as close as six points (36-30) with 3:02 left in the second quarter, but the Wildcats scored the last four points in the frame.  Woodmore started the game scoring eight of the first 10 points and eventually led 20-6 after one quarter.  Burner scored 17 of his points in the first half while senior Mitchell Miller added 22 points with 13 of his points coming in the second half.  The last time Woodmore scored as many as 80 points in a game was December, 2014, against Lakota at home.  Woodmore scored at least 20 points in three of the quarters, and 19 in the other one.  Junior Varsity - Woodmore 55, at Lake 46.  The Wildcats wiped out a 40-34 deficit at the start of the fourth quarter wining the final stanza, 21-6, for the win.  Sophomore Paul Koenig scored 15 points for the Wildcats, freshman Ethan McNair 11 points, and sophomore Andrew Barringer 10 points. Freshman - at Lake 43, Woodmore 38.  Woodmore took a 36-22 lead into the final quarter, but scored only two points in the final seven minutes to suffer the loss.  Isaac Betancourt scored nine points, and Hunter Allen and DJ Melter each contributed eight points.
