Wildcats Sweep at Fostoria

2/16/18 - Varsity - Woodmore 83, at Fostoria 53.  The Wildcats took control late in the first quarter and won comfortably in Northern Buckeye Conference play on the road.  The Wildcats scored 10 unanswered points in the first quarter to turn a 9-8 lead into a 19-8 lead.  Junior Drew Burner scored eight of the points in the run for Woodmore.  They settled for a 19-10 lead at the break.  In the second quarter, Woodmore outscored the Redmen 13-3 to start the stanza to build a 32-13 edge.  Senior Kevin Paul had six of the Wildcat points in the run.  Woodmore led 40-19 at halftime.  Woodmore won the third quarter by a 26-15 count to lead 66-34 at the end of the frame.  Their biggest lead was 38 points in the fourth quarter, 75-37.  Burner led the way for Woodmore with 22 points while senior Mitchell Miller added 14 points and Paul scored 12 points.  Woodmore had 11 different players find the scoring column in the game.  Woodmore had 27 field goals to 18 for Fostoria while the Wildcats were 24-of-28 at the free throw line, Fostoria 12-of-18.  Junior Varsity - Woodmore 43, at Fostoria 40.  Woodmore led after each quarter gradually building the lead.  Woodmore led 5-4 after one quarter, 21-17 at halftime, and 37-28 after three quarters.  Sophomore Paul Koenig led the way with 21 points, junior Jimmy Grzegorczyk added seven, and freshman Andrew Barringer scored six points.  Freshman - Woodmore 43, at Fostoria 31.  The Wildcats led after each quarter (12-4 after one, 24-13 at halftime, and 38-21 after three quarters) to earn the win.  Ian Jacobson scored 11 points to lead Woodmore while DJ Melter and Isaac Betancourt each added eight points.
