Wildcats Drop Home Finale to Clay

2/21/17 - Varsity - The Wildcats (7-14) got scoring from only four players on Senior Night and a big third quarter by Clay was the difference in a 60-50 loss for Woodmore.  Clay led 8-7 after one quarter and two teams were tied at 21 at halftime.  But, Clay took the lead for good in the third quarter outscoring the Wildcats, 22-12, and they maintained that advantage through most of the fourth quarter.  Senior Derek Wank led the Wildcats with 22 points while junior Mitchell Miller chipped in with 13 points.  Senior JT Atkin added 11 points and senior Mikey Blausey scored four points.  Seniors DJ Wellons and Connor Davis also played in the game.  Woodmore scored 29 points in the second half, but gave up 39.  Junior varsity - Woodmore jumped out to an 18-8 lead after one quarter then weathered the storm in the third quarter and put the game away against Clay with a 22-11 fourth quarter to win 69-53.  Sophomore Drew Burner led the Wildcats with 26 points, 14 in the fourth quarter, while sophomore Hayden Heidebrink added 15 points and sophomore Brandon Blausey had 10.  Freshman - The Wildcats won the second half, 17-12, but it wasn't enough to overcome a 24-10 haftime deficit and Woodmore lost a 36-27 decision.  Andrew Barringer had 17 points for the Wildcats and Paul Koenig added eight points.
