Wildcats Earn First Win

12/3/16 - Varsity - The Wildcats (1-1) held the lead throughout the game building a 19-6 lead in the first quarter and using that advantage the rest of the way to earn a 65-52 win at Oak Harbor in the non-league contest.  Oak Harbor hit a three-point field goal at the halftime buzzer to cut the deficit to 28-23 at the break.  But, Woodmore scored 15 of the first 16 points in the third quarter to take a 43-24 lead with 1:44 left.  Oak Harbor had one more run in them, scoring 11 of 13 points over the end of the third quarter and early in the final stanza to trail by 10 points, 45-35, with 7:15 left in the game.  But, the Wildcats would go on a 16-8 run to take a 61-45 edge with 3:11 left in the game and would finish out the victory.  Senior Mikey Blausey and junior Michell Miller led the way with 17 points apiece while senior JT Atkin added 14 points.  Blausey canned four three-pointers in the game.  Junior varsity - The Wildcats posted a 55-40 win behind 19 points from sophomore Drew Buner and 16 points from sophomore Taityn Rollins.  Sophomore Hayden Heidebrink added 10 points.  Woodmore led 26-17 at half and opened that advantage up to 44-29 heading into the final quarter.  Freshman - The freshman squad lost a 38-27 decision.  After the two teams were tied at 14 at halftime, the Wildcats were outscored 24-13 in the second half, 15-7 in the third quarter.  Paul Koenig had 11 points to lead Woodmore.
