Wildcats Drop Game at Eastwood

1/30/18 - Varsity - at Eastwood 66, Woodmore 57. Woodmore led 12-11 after the first quarter, but were outscored 37-25 in the middle two quarters to trail 48-37 heading to the final stanza.  Eastwood led 28-21 at halftime on the strength of a 15-4 run to end the half.  And, when they scored the first bucket of the third quarter, the Wildcats were down 30-21.  Woodmore would counter by scoring the next nine points to tie the game at 30.  In a back-and-forth contest, Eastwood would end the third quarter outscoring the Wildcats 18-7 to take a 48-37 lead into the final quarter.  Woodmore would then outscore Eastwood 16-5 to start the fourth quarter to forge a 55-all tie with under three minutes left.  The home team would then run off 11 of the final 13 points to end Woodmore's five-game winning streak.  Junior Drew Burner led the Wildcats with 21 points while senior Mitchell Miller added 18 points, 16 of those in the second half.  Miller scored 11 points in the fourth quarter.  Eastwood had 27 field goals compared to 18 for the Wildcats.  Woodmore was 17-of-20 at the charity stripe, Eastwood converted 9-of-13 attempts.  Junior Varsity - at Eastwood 62, Woodmore 31.  Woodmore was outscored, 23-9, in the second quarter to trail 36-14 at halftime and could never get back in the game.  Sophomore Paul Koenig led Woodmore with seven points.  Freshman - Woodmore 38, at Eastwood 27. The Wildcats doubled up on Eastwood in the middle two quarters, 22-11, to build a 28-19 lead after three quarters and went on for the win.  Hunter Allen scored 14 points to lead the Wildcats while DJ Melter added eight points.  Eight different players scored for the Wildcats.
